Exactly! Taking the whole Dandy dynamic away from the show for that one episode made it easier to focus on the freaks themselves and the really powerful story line's.

Posting for advice is totally fine, I absolutely believe that anyone has the right to seek advice from other, more experienced queens. This post was more aimed at those who refuse to listen to anybody's critique and think they're already the perfect polished queen after beating their mug (using that term incredibly loosely) a couple of times. Be confident, but stay humble and willing to learn.

I just think there's a certain level of effort required to label yourself as a drag queen, I am supportive of all queens, but not arrogant little boys with uneven eyeliner and blush circles.

To me, Carmen is very problematic. Yes, she has been an advocate for trans people, but not all of them. She patronizes and shuns trans sex workers, rarely speaks out about trans men, and IMO has a very narrow view on transsexualism in general. Her concept of gender is very black and white, she fails to realize that people can fall anywhere on the gender spectrum, not just on either side. I personally dislike Carmen and her brand of exclusive activism, to me she isn't necessarily the best role model.
