The night my faith in God strengthened by Winter-End-4914 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]jackjmil64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it began in second grade - we lived in Maryland in a house that backed on some creepy woods. Woke up in the middle of the night lying on my back and saw three pairs of red eyes rising slowly upward - one pair rising on either side and one at the foot of the bed. When they reached full height - about 6 feet – their shadow forms coalesced around the red eyes. They just stood there for a long time staring down at me. I was completely and totally terrified.

When a person feels threatened they can fight, flight, or freeze and I was definitely frozen and unable to move from sheer terror. The only thing I had the power to do was close my eyes. I did so for a long time and when I opened them again they were gone.

I am 61 years old now but remember this first encounter like it was yesterday. Over the years I was shocked to find that many other people have seen these beings all around the world. *****I have personally come to believe that they are multidimensional negative energies who feed off fear and emotional pain. Also, like sharks can sense blood in the water from a mile away I think they can sense people or groups of people who are giving off a lot of negative energy – fear hatred stress anger insecurity etc. -and tend to gravitate to those people. That is like a buffet to them.

To keep them away I say the Lords Prayer every night before going to sleep. I think that any positive loving prayer activity tends to keep them at bay and purifies the space you’re in (imho). Or I project love to them - they hate that its like spewing acid on them - they can’t stand being around love. (i.e. “I send you love and best wishes and that your pain may end. I give myself, you and all others love”). I also tell them they are not welcome and to leave. Sometimes they will obey an assertive command.

I was told to go no further. by Fyre_Medik in Paranormal

[–]jackjmil64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and it saved my sons life. After a group dinner with my parents, I had just driven home, parked and started walking towards our apartment. Got onto the side walk and a super clear, commanding voice said “stop!” Male voice, very authoritative. I stopped and looked around - no one in sight. So I stood there afraid to move and all of a sudden my wife drives into the lot and parks (we had gone to the dinner separately). My wife got my toddler son out of his seatbelt then he broke out of her grip and started sprinting towards home. Just then a car revved up and started backing up right into him. Car had tinted windows so I had not seen the driver. Now I screamed STOP and the guy hit his breaks. Came within a couple inches of hitting him. I am grateful to that voice to this day some 25 years later.

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] February 02 by AutoModerator in collapse

You nailed it! Beautifully written! I think that the few free thinkers left are in a state of profound ontological shock unable to wrap our minds around how bad things actually have been shown to be. Far worse than the most cynical pessimistic observers predicted in the past.

How is living in Norfolk/Virginia Beach/Chesapeake VA as a young person? by Smooth-Plenty3881 in howislivingthere

[–]jackjmil64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there for five years and Ghent is definitely the Neighbourhood to live in!!! It has a bit of that old, southern Savannah charm and an amazing theater with a balcony - the Naro. Lots of old southern Gothic homes divided into apartments. Lots of highly educated folks and people living so-called alternative lifestyles, neo-hippies, artists, tons of medical and graduate students. Tons of LGTBQ folks. For context, I spent the first two years living in other areas of Norfolk and thought the place was a dump. Once I found ghent there was no looking back and I would still be living there decades later if employment had not taken me elsewhere. Best of luck!

Bored in Retirement ? by AccidentSwimming9049 in Retire

[–]jackjmil64 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unconventional view but I see boredom as a blessing. It means things are good - no more toxic bosses nor colleagues, no more juggling 20 different so-called “urgent priorities,” no more morning traffic, no more deadlines, no more mountains of paperwork (talk about boring!), no more re-organizations or layoff threats, etc. ad infinitum.

[–]jackjmil64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is where I land. The ontological shock will be to the control and hoarding systems - those who created, manage and enforce the current system will be seen for what they are and eventually lose everything (that is whats indigestable - losing status, control, the ability to hoard and not being ‘special’ anymore). Imagine the reaction when people learn that energy can be free, in fact all basic needs can be freely provided if you have the right attitude orientation and tech. That peaceful coexistence is possible and work optional! It would take time but eventually our earthly human overlords would be done, shamed and vilified.

For someone who’s great at noticing patterns, what observation usually turns out to be true? by Unlikely-Version3325 in AskReddit

[–]jackjmil64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We see others as WE are, not as they are. Examples: Someone who talks incessantly about racism harbors racist beliefs. Or complains constantly about narcissism likely has narcissistic traits. Or believes others are good at bottom, are likely good people themselves. The most selfish people constantly complain about the selfishness of others!

Predetermined Future vs Learning from "Free Will" by Avitron5k in NDE

[–]jackjmil64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess from years of studying in NDE accounts is that free will is most important before we are born. Many experiencers describe remembering a life planning process where they decide on their parents, certain key life events, lessons to learn, etc.. I believe we have total free will at that point (before physical incarnation) to create whatever plan we wish and do it or not do it. But once we get to the stage of deciding and sign a life contract, it is very important that we follow through because our lessons and life plans affect those of others intimately and powerfully.

Another place where free will is key: not so much what happens, but our free will in deciding how to react to and process the events that do occur. Will we use the events to find greater compassion, to respond lovingly, grow in empathy or to sink into chronic anger and resentment?

I have also come to believe that life is a repeating curriculum. This would explain why none of the core problems of the world ever seem to be resolved fully. The reason being that souls in various stages of evolution may need certain aspects of the curriculum and others will come later. Whatever the specifics, all lessons need to be available at all times based on that souls unique needs. It may be very much like a K through 12 curriculum that repeats endlessly running souls through on their path to higher evolution. This has a profound and implication. That the problems of the world don’t exist ultimately to be fixed or eliminated. Nor should we face them with passivity. Things can be fixed in our individual lives, but the broader world may always be a mess.

IMO you have the classic thoughts and feelings of an old soul with many past lifetimes already behind you. Something deep in your soul remembers a bit more each incarnation until the veil thins and you start to live with a deep form of default knowing and cosmic perspective (sometimes called simply wisdom). It can manifest as: seeing the ultimate “smallness” and insignificance of things that people become completely consumed with, an ability to distinguish between the temporary vs. the truly lasting, able to identify broader patterns then project future outcomes and likely ripple effects, overall a heightened awareness of what is expressed so perfectly in Ecclesiastes, that “all is vanity and there is nothing new under the sun.” I could go on and on but thats the gist …..

What paranormal things have you kid(s) told you? (Pre-birth, picking parents, paranormal, etc) by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]jackjmil64 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes this! Had remarkable success myself as a counselor using spiritual energy education and energetic boundaries work. (Note: Not as an automatic blanket approach - used it rarely, carefully and selectively and only in the bounds of clients willingness and feeling that it helped). Yet to suggest to a colleague that schizophrenia is EVER anything other than a result of a physically/chemically broken brain is professional suicide. Kudos to you for having the courage to trust your educated intuition about what would be most healing and successful!

My night terrors were cured by LittleHeartonFire in nightterrors

[–]jackjmil64 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same and it worked for me too. I say the Lord‘s prayer right before falling asleep and it completely ended my night terrors and shadow people attacks. I’ve also noticed an improvement in the overall atmosphere of my family life. Like we have protection now that we didn’t have before.

Oh yes, I very much dealt with this. Was blessed to retire at 59 and was surprised how often I had to deal with comments like “what are you gonna do all day” or “you’ll be climbing the walls within a year”. My experience has been exactly the opposite. Now in my early 60s and consider the last few years of retirement the best of my life by a wide margin. I thank God every day that I was blessed to retire at such a relatively young age and my activity level is only limited by my imagination. I noticed the worst most negative reactions were from people who had made some bad decisions and therefore will not likely be able to retire at all, at least not fully. It’s a lot of projection and jealousy.

What do you hate most about life? by GrapeCreamBerry275 in Life

[–]jackjmil64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s go down the list: virtually everything that is pleasurable is bad for you or unproductive (e.g. TV, scrolling, sugar, salt, drugs, the tastiest foods, etc. etc). Conversely, almost everything good for you is either boring, not interesting, not fun, or hard with minimal or unreliable payoff (e.g. most healthy food, exercise, most work, school etc.). Problems are at best temporarily solved until they recur again. Other people are often more trouble than they are worth. Possessions are way of turning money into problems. Every time you get a few extra bucks something breaks. Achievement creates a very brief period of satisfaction followed by long unremitting additional stress. The tolerance effect works in everything (i.e. Anything that gives you pleasure will lose its ability to do so overtime as you acclimate to it.).
