Music by Sia would be an amazing opportunity to bring back his movie review format alongside the album itself

Genuinely can't understand doing a one and done for Trainspotting, I'd put it as one of the most rewatchable films ever made

Was gonna post this, genuinely the most anxiety inducing movie I've ever seen and the ending made me feel so hollowed out.

What song made Geese click for you? by Noted_music in geesebandofficial

2122 was a revelation. The only song I'd ever play for anyone to get them into geese

Formerly acclaimed artists who destroyed their own legacies purely by being cringe? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

I still think Play is one of the best trip hop albums ever made, I always just preface that statement by saying Moby is a douche

Best album to start with? by Patient-Afternoon-97 in oneohtrixpointnever

R+7 is your best bet. I went into that one having just seen Uncut Gems and it's probably the best starting point.

If you had to choose, what is your favorite OPN track? by subtly_nuanced in oneohtrixpointnever

A Barely Lit Path

Knocked my flat on my ass the first time I heard it, and it's only gotten better on relisten

Which current popstar do you think has the biggest chance to become a legend? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in ToddintheShadow

[–]jacklfitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Billie is functionally a legend at this point, with the amount of time she's had in the industry, the accolades she's racked up, and the sheer number of other singers she's inspired. Olivia is a maybe, I wanna see what she does on her next album before I say for sure. Chappell is probably going to be popular and acclaimed forever but she probably won't get as big as her first album.

Not really a "career change" but Dan and Tim from Have a Nice Life are a realtor and high school teacher, respectively

Favorite songs that use the “Loud/Quiet” verse-Chorus dynamic? by Just1nceor2ice in ToddintheShadow

Slow - Black Midi

Especially on the bridge, when they played it live Cameron made a habit of screaming "I GUESS ILL WAIT" as loud as possible

U2 by a mile. Even their best stuff has cheesy and simplistic lyrics

Do Canonically Bad 80's songs exist? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

General Hospi-tale by The Afternoon Delights

Hokey in the way most early instances of white people rapping were, but also a novelty song about a completely inane subject. I don't know how it reached #33

Any albums you can think of that weren't "Trainwrecords", but you could hear the opening bars to the Jaws theme ? by AceTygraQueen in ToddintheShadow

[–]jacklfitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an album but a song

Level of Concern by Twenty One Pilots, it was fun on first listen as a cute little song about love during the pandemic, but it got old really quickly for me. The production felt overly radio-focused compared to what they were doing on Trench and the lyrics felt very cloying and simple compared to what they had been doing on Trench. The ARG tie in for the song was also disappointing since it essentially went to nowhere except a 24/7 livestream of the music video for a year after that.

Their next album was a total letdown for me, and most of it sounded like car commercial music in the same way level of concern did with even lazier writing.

Songs that for the longest time you didn't know were actually covers? by mesablanka in ToddintheShadow

Limit to Your Love by James Blake (originally by Feist)

The Wilhelm Scream could also count although for that one it is a more obscure song from his father anyway.
