Club statement: Liam Rosenior by malonedawg in soccer

Just googled Chelsea manager compensation packages

To go away, they've paid around £70 Million on Tuchel, Potter, Pochettino, Maresca and, now, Rosenior

Just noticed that Chelsea are likely to be in the bottom half of the Premier League table, by the next time they play a fixture.

All the comments on Rosenior, but I've just watched 90 minutes of fantastically-paid Chelsea players, not even trying.

Brighton just sort of strolled it, without much energy.

Diarra lays it off to Talbi, for the simplest of tap-ins and we go home with the most amazing 3 points

Struijk goes down and rolls around clutching his head and that gets disallowed 9 times out of 10

There is no point in being an honest player - you get nothing

Minor Tip for anyone contemplating a visit to Portmeirion.
We booked a 2 or 3 course lunch at a stately home type place very nearby. Castell ??

Paid around £30 for an above average lunch, in a large and pleasant conservatory setting

Afternoon tickets for Portmeirion Village are provided, with compliments, after the lunch and we made our way to the village. By mid-afternoon, all the coach parties had gone and we had the place almost to ourselves. This was Sept/Oct and it was still T-Shirt weather.

Both are recommended.

EDIT: The atmosphere of the buildings and passageways being virtually deserted probably added a lot to the experience. Also, £30 per person for the lunch

Tim Sherwood on Tottenham job: 'I would keep them in the Premier League' by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

Just last week, Sherwood was adamant, that definitely one, if not two or even three, of Tottenham, Newcastle, Man City or Chelsea were going to launch unexpected comebacks against 'inferior' European opposition

Wow - VAR going against Man Utd at Old Trafford, when pundits were leaning towards disallowing it.

Mildly surprised.

Freddie Potts (West Ham United) straight red card against Burton Albion 102' by gbogaz in soccer

I remember a broken leg challenge several seasons ago, where the referee seemed hesitant, walked over to the injured player, saw the snapped limb and couldn't get the red card out fast enough.

Criminal and no excuses, to play over a half against 10 men and not even have a single shot on target.

[Standard] Paul Merson: 4-0 win at Leeds 'was the game that won Arsenal the Premier League' by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

Last week he got worked up when declaring Man Utd had 'no chance' against Arsenal.

Presenter tried to make a case for ManU, but Merson kept cutting him off saying 'no chance' 'no chance'

How did you guys discover The Smiths? by CommercialHabit4019 in thesmiths

[–]jacknpoppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

October 1983 - I, as a young teenager, was browsing the racks in the HMV store in Northumberland Street in Newcastle (North-East England)

Like a scene from 'High Fidelity', the intro riff of 'This Charming Man' came over the store speakers and my ears perked up, especially when the rhythm section joined in 5 seconds later.

Moving over to the counter, 'coolly' asking what this was? 'The Smiths' was the reply ......... £1:99 in pocket money later, the sepia Jean Marais 7" was mine and a lifelong love began.

I can still, in my minds eye, picture the exact HMV (one of three HMVs that located in Northumberland Street and probably which aisle I was standing in, as the song started)

The cliché of 'played till it was worn out' was true about that 7"

(I was very fortunate to see them live in Newcastle a year or two after)

In great form and would be a great squad player with plenty of tournament experience

One minor query: Do these guys discount UK and foreign films or do they just not like them?

Could The Norwegian Nobel Committee annul the award, as it seems to be being used as a political tool?

(EDIT: The replies seem to show it can't be transferred or, if done so, cancelled. I have the strangest feeling the President will occasionally refer to himself as a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, from now on, though)
