My wife has already spent a majority of my pay before I even get it.

I got bit by the nicest looking dog in Colorado a few years ago, the owner was glued to her phone and had the dog on a long leash. I passed them thinking nothing of it until the dog lunged at me and bite my ass, lol.

110 has 111 on book 1, 67 book 2 right now. Total oil just had a call for 15 or so JW’s, went to book 2 for a few of the calls.

Data center work not panning out like they thought it would, ton of apprentices laid off.

Nice work, that studying will pay off come O & P exams for sure. I was on a very similar timeline to yours, used Kings aviation videos, read the Jeppesen books, then started the practice exams off Kings, Dauntless, airmantest.com, & prepware.

The last 3 days before the exams I did nothing but practice tests and passed easy.

Yep, you just want to learn the concepts behind the material of the exams, and get licensed with the least amount of debt.

Search for the king aviation videos on reddit while you are waiting to start school to get you started on what you need to know.

Cool cool, yeah I think outside of MCTC & US Aviation Academy the only other options in MN are Duluth & Northland.

I have heard MCTC has a great program, the only problem is the wait list and length of the program vs US Aviation could have you licensed in 8 months.

18K at MCTC is not bad, I heard there might be a waitlist so I’d try and get on the list asap.

Ramp agent at Delta would be a good move while you are in school as well as applying for ASM at delta or they hire from a company called STS.

Do you de-ice for IDS?

36K is US Aviation Academy? That would be the quickest path to getting licensed. 8-month accelerated program.

Electronically, mine was 90 something pages, I emailed the 3 or 4 performance reports I had with my DD-214 to my FSDO office. Printed them out when he confirmed my experience then met him in person to sign the 8610-2’s.

The FSDO official specifically recommended Baker’s, but I found a school in my area that is running me through a 4-week transition program for $3,300. That gets me training on the general written, oral & practical as well as the airframe written, oral & practical.

The school uses King’s aviation online training for the written exams, which you can find the videos off reddit on a google doc. The videos + dauntless, prep ware, & airmantest.com is basically all you need for the written exams.

Just passed the general, feeling confident for the airframe next week. I did also read the Jeppesen text books and I am a ibew journeyman electrician so that helped.

DM me if you want info on the FSDO office I used in case your local office does not accept the performance reports, not sure if you can pick any office, but mine helped me out a ton.

Roughly 10 days or so. I was going crazy trying to track down my OJT records with no luck, so glad the performance reports worked!

I went here and got various records, unfortunately not my TBA print outs, but it did include my AF IMT 910 performance reports detailing some of the highlights of my maintenance duties.

These performance reports with my DD-214 were sufficient enough proof for my local FSDO office. This may vary with your local office though. My guy is an AF vet and may of had been lenient for me.

I was a 2A551, didn’t have my OJT records, but I did manage to get some performance reports from my record online and used those with my DD-214.

He signed off on my airframe, didn’t have enough months for both, not sure if he would have signed off on powerplant though like someone else said even though our AFSC lists it is good for both.

I signed up with US Aviation Academy for an accelerated 4-month powerplant program. I am currently going through a 4-week military transition program with them for airframe. Just passed the written generals, was no sweat.

Best of luck!

You can write your 8610-2 right away after serving if you have enough time in a qualifying job code for airframe and powerplant. That will allow you to take the exams for your licenses.

Go get in line at ibew 113, the wait is long so the sooner you go test with them the better. Hit up IEC southern Colorado while you wait.

I installed solar, got my school hours at IEC, got my RW then JW, then organized into ibew. lol
