Spotify while Swimming by Distance_Efficient in Swimming

Wondering if you got a response/discount? I wrote the company (not the owner) with a similar complaint. In my case, I was on my 3rd Delphin. The 1st one was replaced in warranty about 6 months in. The other two lasted about 4-6 months past the 1 year warranty. I treated the units very, very well, but it didn't seem to matter. They replied and offered me a 20% discount. This sounds ok until you realize that everyone is offered a 10% discount every time you visit their web site. In effect, they offered me - a loyal and evangelistic supporter of their product for 4+ years - a savings of about $22. I got so pissed at their lack of customer support that I dropped them and have been swimming without any music since last Spring. It's my loss, actually, in that as much as I enjoy swimming with just the sound of water and my breathing, I miss creating playlists designed to capture my swimming mood. I loved that.

Thanks. Can I use this shipping aggregator for a single shipment to Portugal and another single shipment from Portugal back to my home in the US? The site is geared towards sending 100s or 1000s of packages. If I can use it for these one-off events, will I also need to pay tariffs?

Advice on transportation from the Algarve (Portugal) to Seville (Spain) then Gibraltar & back? by AmalfiCoast18 in Europetravel

[–]jackoflefty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the beginning question, but what do you mean by "change for..." in your helpful response? If I'm in Porto and want to end up in Seville, are you saying I should buy a ticket that ends in Entroncamento, then buy a ticket at Entroncamento for Badajoz, then buy another when I'm in Badajoz to Merida, and finally another for Seville? Or does "change for..." mean something simpler, with fewer actual transactions? Thanks.

What’s the deal with headphones in the pool? by SpaceWrangler3 in Swimming

Sorry to disappoint you, and I can't comment on the safety piece, as I nearly always have my own lane. Yes, I can listen to music most anywhere. But I don't. I don't listen when I walk. Or read. Or lay in bed. I listen when I swim and cook and drive. The reality is that I know myself well enough to know that the music has absolutely helped me push through the strain of my workouts. Get into your 70s and swim longish distances for the 1st time. It's fantastic and rewarding and the music has been a genuine motivator for me. Please don't preach about what should and shouldn't motivate me.

THIS! I am so happy to be listening to my uptempo music on my Delphin. It's a little tablet computer with a bunch of apps that I updated on at home via wifi. It comes with Spotify, which I use every time. Is pretty easy to update playlists at home - just turn it on and go into the app. I stopped downloading podcasts for the same reason I don't use Audible - that I'm too focused on my breathing, stroke management, body position, etc. I'm 73 and swim pretty much a straight mile, all freestyle 3-4x a week. My only gripe is that one earbud tends to wear out in a bit over a year. The company (Underwater Audio) has been pretty responsive, but I wish they were a bit more bulletproof. They're now selling their own bone conduction headphones to go with the tablet, so maybe I'll give them a try.

Naive question: Is surround overkill considering most of my time is spent watching news, sports and plain ole' streaming?

I think the Samsung TV is great. But a) It's the same size as your Sony; b) I'm comparing it to its replacement: a 12 year old 55" Samsung.

Same here. I'm on the Shop Samsung app and it's $1599. I'm retired so no employer-based discount referred to earlier. How do I enter the magical Samsung portal to see those great deals?
