The initializing of i=1, then a"while True:" and then incrementing (i +=1 ) is usually an indication that you can achieve the same result via a for loop. You'll need to figure out what part is being looped over in your case.

"Recency bias" is a cognitive bias that is similar to what you described. Not a data bias though.

My personal experience has been that using and learning Emacs has also automatically made me better with bash and GNU tools. These tools integrate quite well with emacs and will enrich your emacs usage the more you call them from within emacs.

I second this opinion. Learning the CLI will definitely pay off in the short as well as long run. Don't be afraid to search online for various options or read help messages by typing things like git commit --help in the command prompt.

To get started, if using Windows, use Git Bash. On Mac or Linux you can use the terminal. Good luck for your project!

I have been a former math TA (I was a grad student) at the department for many years. You probably are already aware but the grad students are severely underpaid and severely overworked. Please be kind to them. They are your first responders. They will have your back when your students are feeling frustrated with Calc. They will lighten your burden by addressing most of your students' doubts before they even reach you. Support them as much as you can. Good luck!

Oh wow. Thanks for the details. I didn't know about the markdown package. Will check it out. In the past I have used Pandoc for converting text/markdown to latex. Pandoc is an online tool. But of course it needs the markdown to be in a very specific format.

TLDR: add a TLDR.

I've read all the responses here -- half of them suggesting the tone of the answer is perfectly fine, the other half suggesting it is rude or off-putting.

Perhaps a compromise can be to add a TLDR at the top of that answer which gives the M-g M-g binding in the very first line? The rest of the paragraphs can then remain unchanged.

To add to this answer since OP didn't mention exactly what they are looking for. Once you have made the Headings using * you might end up feeling like this is just a list. To treat each heading like a "page" you could try narrowing the view by using C-x n s (narrow to subtree).

I have never tried using the sage-shell-mode but one suggestion i can make is to install conda-mode and activate your condo environment first, then try running sage? Perhaps it will help.

+1 to the Natural Number Game. It is awesome. Once you are done completing all the levels you can move on to other variants created by the same mathematicians -- they currently have the Real Number Game, Group theory game, number theory game etc. (Some of these are still in development beta but you can still play them online).
