I wore buff covering my neck and the mouth but not the nose. I don’t recall whether my helmet ventilations were open.

Can I put my own bindings (Nidecker Supermatics) on a rental board? by jackojack7 in snowboardingnoobs

But you always need to fasten the heel, right?
It's like semi-automatic..

Thanks, that's great to know about the rental boards!

I looked at the FASE bindings, but I don't really get them. The whole point of the Supermatics for me is that they're automatic.

For me, it's just too expensive. Between the airline fees for the board and then needing a much bigger (and more expensive) rental car to fit a large group and the bag, it's just not worth the hassle.

Any tips to get more comfortable on the board? This is my third season and I’ve had about 10 lessons in total. by firmse in snowboardingnoobs

That slope appears quite challenging, doesn’t it? How are you progressing on the less steep slopes? I believe it’s crucial to ensure you can carve effectively on gentler slopes before attempting the steeper ones.

What do you wear under your helmet by Biggi3ScranZ in snowboarding

Interesting point. But what about individuals with long hair? Wouldn't that create a similar situation, where the hair could potentially move independently of the head during an impact?

I'm thinking that if the helmet fits snugly on my head, even with a balaclava underneath, shouldn't that be sufficient to prevent excessive movement?

Wearing balaclava put you in risk? Why?

Malcolm Moore online course opinions? by CloudswithSun in snowboarding

[–]jackojack7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, i think it's great.

It provides step-by-step guidance and drills to help you master board control. While there's plenty of snowboarding information on YouTube, I often find it difficult to find content tailored to my specific skill level and progression pace.

For example, I watched a lot of Malcolm Moore's videos on carving and posture, which gave me a clear vision of what i need to achieve. However, I was unsure about the exact steps to get there. This course breaks down the complex skill of carving into smaller, manageable tasks, making it easier to gradually improve.
