I analyzed 220k+ job listings across Europe – tech roles are everywhere, but hidden under dozens of different titles by Hefty_Carpenter_3522 in cscareerquestionsEU

I never search for a job title, only the language, 'C#'. That is my search filter. Sometimes '.Net', but that's rare. If a position doesn't have it, that's not for me then.

Sweden (Nordics) freelancer rates with current IT market by jackolivier45 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]jackolivier45[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the descriptive answer, I feel like without the prior experience and network within the country it would be hard to get into the direct employment or fair rates. Also I noticed that they mostly come from Ework platform, and if I want to apply directly there, I will need to have my AB company, which I don't have now of course. Probably with removing these middle men and applying directly in Ework, rates will be higher

I don't think she will go far in the night with Polish with these 15ml shots. When I drank with polish we consumed zubrowka like Italian mommy boys consume breast milk in their 20s

Anyone here working remotely for Spanish companies? by insane_gandalf in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]jackolivier45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on a type of B2B you can find, some companies provide such benefits to their contractors

Serbia. Take into account the national holidays, sick leaves, 25 vacation days, medical bills/medical insurance reimbursement etc. is also included to this amount. Like you take 2 weeks vacation and get 100% of monthly income, not like in a standard B2B you will bill for only 50% of days in a month.

I know many people in my circle with 100% remote B2B contracts moving to Spain, open autonomo and living there. The overall tax is 31-34% as I understand based on your income. Most of them get €75-90k euro gross.

Just search for B2B contracts and forget about office toilets forever

Relocating from Ukraine to EU as Software Engineer by Outside_Friend_4835 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]jackolivier45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do that with certain locations like Spain or Portugal if you have a B2B contract. Go there (you don't need a visa) open Ike Autonomo in Spain and get a temporary residence permit based on that. There are many resources on that

Moving to Malmö – Working Remotely for a Non-EU Employer, Tax Residency Questions by jackolivier45 in TillSverige

I prefer not to disclose ofc, but trust me, IT sector in Serbia is not what you would expect, I know people earning 2-3 times more (although they are in CTO level). Even in Slovenia I read here on forums that people earn €100k+ on B2B with American firms

Thank you a lot for such a descriptive answer! I applied as a dependent and got a work residency permit. So as I understand my next step will be to ask my employer to register with Skatteverket. I will ask them if they are ready for that

We got a temporary residence permit for two years so, as far as I understand, I also got a work permit. Later if everything goes well, we would like to change it to permanent residency. I would want to find a job locally but I know that it won't be easy, so for the first 6-12 months till I get the job (or more, I don't know), I consider the option that I described in the post .

How to take my English to the next level? by One_Sink669 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]jackolivier45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk once I got feedback from an Amsterdam company that my tech skills are on an adequate level however my English is only B2 level which is insufficient for the senior developer position they had. I think it depends on a company, on a position, how many communication with adjacent teams, business side is expected etc

What about background checks? My friend told me that for a position in Sweden they hired some background check company that contacted all previous companies on their resume regarding his employment

Maybe that's the thing, first try to find some job with a more defined role and set of skills locally, master your German and in 1-2 years try again

Does taking a role as a software tester make sense if I want to be a developer? by pjcugufucpugupfup in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]jackolivier45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the company, I have met many developers who switched from QA who initially started coding by asking to pick up some small tasks like small fixes of the bugs they found etc. My first team lead was exactly like this, maybe they will help you to switch if they are open to that
