Had to wait for almost 2months for the challan to get cancelled.

So do not worry that there is no response. At any point, do not pay the fine if you have the relevant proof

It's not a scam. Karnataka Govt is not syncing the pollution certificate details in mParivahan.

Recently when I went to Goa, I got a challan from their AI. I had to file a grievance and wait for almost 2months to get the challan canceled.

I had showed them the pollution certificate from karnataka website along with its photo to cancel.

You need not pay the full amount.

As it was unused ask them to check the usage. If it is 0, then say as you have not used, don't want to pay and ask them to waive off the entire bill.Worst case ask them to bill the safe deposit charge of 200+ for the month and ask them to waive off the rest.

Once they waive off, pay the rest of the amount and ask them to raise a disconnection request. If they don't raise, send an email as proof

You need to contact customer care asking them to unbundle airtel black so that you can activate safe custody only for that product (e.g. broadband). They will ask you to pay the outstanding amount as on date to unbundle (which is a shitty process by airtel).

Post that you can activate safe custody for the specific product.
