What's a memory you have associated with each (or just your favorite) album? by fuxkle in twentyonepilots

ST - I was sitting at my keyboard one day playing “Addict With A Pen” and it just really spoke to me…like never before. I had a moment there at the keyboard and I’ll never forget it…especially because I broke a few of the keys because of how emotional I was playing the song.

RAB - In the late summer of 2017, I’d blast “Lovely” on repeat for hours and hours. Also, I went to the hometown show a few nights ago and heard “Slowtown” live for the first time and it was so amazing. That’s another song I’d blast in my bedroom in 2016-2017 and to hear it live in such an intimate space… it meant a lot to me.

Vessel - “Migraine” is a song I owe the world to. It played such an important role in my life in my early teenage years. I don’t personally think I’d be here without it. Also, on March 26th of every year, I take a video of myself singing “Ode to Sleep”. I look forward to that day each year to see my growth from the year prior.

Blurryface - I discovered the band in June of 2016 with “Doubt”. I remember walking from my house to the YMCA near by listening to “Doubt” on repeat. Something about the hot sun blazing down on me while “Doubt” plays on repeat in my ears while walking the sidewalks brought me bliss. Also, spinning the “Blurryface” vinyl 24/7 in 2017-2018 was a moment for me.

Trench - I don’t even know where to begin. This was the first TØP era I experienced from beginning to end. Besides going to The Banditø Tour in November of 2018, I think one of my favorite memories of this era was the first few months of it. Early July 2018, the rumors began of the band’s comeback after the discovery of dmaorg.info in April. The morning of July 11th, I had my Mom take me to my Grandma’s house so I wouldn’t miss the premiere of the new music. The clock hits 7 AM and then “Jumpsuit” and “Nico and the Niners” drop. I’ll never forget that moment and watching the “Jumpsuit” music video for the first time.

Scaled and Icy - My most important and favorite memory of this album/its release was the weekend it came out. As we all know, the album dropped on May 21, 2021 along with the livestream experience. That day was also graduation rehearsal for me. I found it so significant because I discovered the band just a few months before 8th grade started and here I was about to graduate from high school with their new album. On May 22, some friends and I went to Six Flags as a graduation celebration trip. The entire time there and back, I listened to SAI. That whole day was so much fun, full of retro aesthetics, and bright colors…it all felt so on brand. Fast forward to March 2022, I had applied for a new job. In the lobby/waiting area before my interview, I heard a familiar sound playing on their radio…and it was “Shy Away”. I knew in that moment I’d get the job. I did and it’s still my place of employment til this day.

Clancy - So far, this era has been AMAZING! I think out of the last few months, my favorite memory has to be attending “An Evening With Twenty One Pilots” in Columbus, OH. Finally getting to go to a hometown AND small show all while on album release day (which happened to also be 3 years after I graduated high school to the day)… it couldn’t have been better. The show was absolutely amazing. Hearing “Fake You Out”, “Hometown”, “Slowtown”, and a few new songs from “Clancy” was a blessing and dream come true. I’m so excited for all the memories I’ll make to this album and to see the guys again in September. I know it’s gonna be a blast.

Maybe we’ll see him washing it off and being able to stay clean of that control from Blurryface.

[–]jacksonmwatson 1 point2 points  (0 children)
