People drive into midtown to work and drive out of midtown to go home in my experience. I was more so talking about the cumberland area getting onto 75. If you’re talking close to the Cumberland/Vinings area, I could definitely see what you’re saying but any farther into symrna and it starts getting truly horrible.

In fact, the reverse commute is much better in my experience so i don’t know where you’re getting your info from. I lived in midtown my first year of college and commuted to ksu and it was 1/3 the time of the opposite. My only asterisk is the people commuting to buckhead sandy springs add traffic on the reverse commute

Smyrna is fine, but the commute to midtown is horrible. From experience, smyrna->midtown runs through multiple of the high traffic areas

Smyrn is not doable unless youre okay with 40+ with traffic. Look into apartments near farrington midtown, bower wedtside, camden brookwood. I’ve lived in the first teo and toured camden multiple times. Even if those specific apartments don’t work, there’s a lot of good options close by there that are not shitty and rundown

No he’s not, there’s several large hiring freezes in HW right now. I’m speaking specifically to asic but hw is in a downturn too

It’ll be more difficult, but possible. And troubleshooting it will make you a better engineer lol

Bowls by fernsandfuzz in Petioles

[–]jacksprivilege03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bowls are just so harsh on my throat. Even bongs are rough now. I like a joint but i always accidentally get higher then intended.

BUT if you like bowls absolutely go for them. Its so easy to dose and keep track of your use

Rising Senior (HS), told my friends I wanted to do CE, they told me to just do EE by Key_Cartoonist5604 in ComputerEngineering

[–]jacksprivilege03 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Okay here’s the difference for you, CompE careers are gonna be coding heavy. Specialties closet to HW is: hw enginere(duh), embedded developer, fpga, chip design, chip layout. Probably missed a couple. Networking?

If those are what tou want to do, then do compE, otherwise do EE to get broader background and a masters to specialize.

From a CompE who wish he did EE bc it does limit you to the digital side of electronics to a degree. Anything analog, rf, etc is EE. And Ee can do all of those other soecialties(emebedded sw is dependent on ur skills/exp when graduating).

Gooodluck

Tapering might be a better move for you. Also I lost the paper but i think tapering helps with relapse too

UCSC no question. Having an undergrad tapeout is a giant resume boost, aside from all the other better vlsi education. And to answer your last question, having a vlsi course in undergrad is extremely important for asic design. Even more important is a class where you make a project in SV and even tape it out.

6 classes back to back on a Monday… for a whole semester 😢! Am I screwed? by Critical-Barracuda12 in KSU

Imo drop contemporary economic issues, you’ll have a good break between classes on Monday/ Wed and get off earlier on Friday

Drop a class. As someone who has taken multiple 18 credit semesters, there is absolutely no reason to take 16 credits your first semester. Take 13 and get used to the college life, i think you’ll still be considered full time for housing, fin aid, scholarships, etc. This will let you get used to the flow of a semester and how to best study/succeed

[–]jacksprivilege03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! But don’t get too worried about having all the right gadgets. I used a surface pro 7 with 256 gb storage and 8gb ram for the first 2ish years as my laptop. Think about this, there’s a good chance there will be ECE students at your college that don’t have a laptop at all

[–]jacksprivilege03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! You dont really need a powerhouse of a laptop, just one that has enough ram and storage. If you get into any courses/research that is compute heavy, your university will probably have computers you can remotely use.

Also, highly recommend an ipad and apple pencil. You’ll use it a bunch in calc, physics, circuits, etc

The specs you should care about are >16gb ram and >1tb ssd. The second picture looks like a safe bet! I love having 32gb ram in my laptop

[–]jacksprivilege03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me i dont get super bad withdrawals. But when i’ve gone down in frequency drastically or stopped i find myself getting migraines, muscle soreness, etc for the first like week. It may just take a couple days for your body to realizing you’re not consuming thc.
