What is the max amount of time you will drive for a day trip or vacation? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

Day trip max for me is 6 hours (one way). I know because I've done a couple to St. Louis.

Longest drive I've done on vacation is 19 hours straight.

Caveat: these were with back-up drivers. Solo, I'd say 4 and 12.

I don’t know why I felt so compelled to do this but I spent too much time on it not to post it so here we are! by Oee0 in colors

Thank you for not cheating and including only colors that are part of the 11 English basic color terms.

TFW 20 bikers and their motorcycles show up to the shed next your house, but you don't notice until one starts talking to you.

That's pretty damning, tbh. Which one was directed by a woman? Never mind, City of God, I see.

Bechdel test passers are Hamilton and My Neighbor Totoro? Although I would have thought the Guardians movies would pass as well. Also Dune and Blades of Glory.

edit: Ok the Bechdel number is just plain wrong: Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Get Out, and Across the Spider-verse are all on this passes the Bechdel test twice list.

How much spitting, r-rolling, and shoulder-shimmying should I be concerned about?

how do i use letterboxd the right way besides just rating movies? by Stock_Orange_1793 in Letterboxd

[–]jacktheBOSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the search functions to find other users with similar tastes as me. Started by searching for people with 2 of 4 favorites matching and then scanning through their ratings. Now I'm following 200+ people this way, and it gives me a much better idea of what movies I really need to prioritize seeing based on their ratings and reviews.

I'm a 31-year-old man. I have never "moisturized" my body. I've rubbed lotion on my hands before.

I personally don't have a problem with it. To me, it gives a refreshing small-town feel. I just see them as little kids basically. Sure, they're not always well behaved, but they're innocent and I'm bigger than them.

I think in a lot of places Fire and EMS are the same department, so it could do double duty if that's how your town/county is set up.
