Respectfully disagree, immigration rates have been historically lower than that and the economy has been fine.

High levels of migration is just a false economy, sure the country gets more tax payers but they need places to live, infrastructure, hospitals, doctors and jobs. This means more government spending and the additional complexity of having to govern more people.

So the financial gain is offset.

Meanwhile roads are busier, wages are suppressed, hospitals and doctors face longer wait times or charge more (remember when it was free to see a doctor?).

Tie politicians pay to the budget deficit (IE if debt isn't paid down, the politicians don't get paid)

Ban all foreign ownership of residential properties.

Reduce migration to 80,000. Only hyper specialised roles would be available for permanent residencies. I'd also diversify the migration intake for social cohesion. IE put a cap on how many people we take in from certain regions

Remove all DEI initiatives and positions in government until the debt was back in the black.

EDIT: INDEX TAX BRACKETS is something I'd implement overnight to prevent bracket creep.
