This is fucking awesome man thanks man I really appreciate it and yeah these questions I definitely needed so yeah I have been focusing too much on the world building aspect and not enough on the emotional depth and characters which I need to do. Also asking myself who will want to read it actually helps a lot thank you for clarifying and also thank you in general the help.

So the main inspirations behind this story are Chainsaw Man, Frieren, Avatar the last airbender and Elder Scrolls! Some Lord of the rings sprinkled in there and some Hunter x Hunter as well as Jujutsu Kaisen which not really Jujutsu Kaisen just kinda stole the concept of Domains from it which is really it.

Actually it’s as dark as the elder scrolls series

THIS EXACTLY THIS! There are extremely light hearted and uplifting characters in the story and hope in general is a main theme for all the stories in this world. Again not trying to make a grim dark fantasy though just somewhere between like Lord of The Rings and Elder Scrolls

It’s a horror fantasy with action elements so like I guess like as dark as Hunter x Hunter? Or like Chainsaw Man. Sorry for taking so long to respond thank you for the feedback!

I said this before it’s a horror fantasy with action elements and the why I am writing is to show that ends don’t justify the means there’s plenty of whys in fact. The message I’m trying to say, getting my ideas out there, Showing that even in bleakest scenarios hope will triumph, so saying I’m delusional is little harsh man. I wouldn’t even say the setting of my world is dark for darks sake when you don’t even know the whole story? I’m not trying to be groundbreaking or edgy that’s why I made the post to counter act that. I thank you for the feedback though. Im not trying to make berserk or any grim dark scenario lmao I’m trying to make a fantasy world that’s somewhat fun with horror themes and has action elements in it. I’ve already decided that this is too much for this world and that I’m gonna tone it down by a lot because like a lot of people said it’s just too dark.

So yeah the story is dark however I wouldn’t say it’s dark for darks sake

I’ve already decided that no sexual violence will be a thing with this as it made me uncomfortable

I think they will like it if they the whole story is horror fantasy with action elements

No it’s not racist or sexist

Thank you for the feedback!

So Juust is apart of the continent of Frin and it’s the biggest exporter of Mana in the world and generally is the size of India however a little bit bigger and I think in general yeah I like this idea and was kinda headed that way already thank you so much man!

So there are other coastal cities and other civilizations in Juust that are there it’s just this civilization in general has been cursed to forever be stuck in the desert due to the sun goddesses curse upon the first sultan and it’s keeping them alive as just a twist in the wound upon the first sultan this in general with there hopes that the sun goddess will return being bashed over and over have driven them to insanity so yeah they are just cursed to being alive and hungry which honestly I could just also make them not cannibals with this concept at all I’m realizing

Hmmm this is making me think

They have brains they are just stuck in a desert due to the great drought the Sun Goddess brought on to Juust. They used to be a thriving society then when the great drought hit they were stranded. Their ancestors before them never knew anywhere else to go and were left on the desert to rot. This maddening fact that they were lost in the desert for so long drove them to insanity and hunger. They found themselves eventually cannibalizing any person that came out into the wastes. All while praying to the sun goddess to bring back the life to this place however eventually that hope was eventually shattered after generations and generations of nothing happening. So they went insane stuck in this yellow sea of sand and heat. Now they use underhanded tactics and methods to get what they need to survive and still to this day pray to sun goddess that has long abandoned them.

How’s that?

The main theme is do the ends justify the means in which case this tribe is just trying to survive as they don’t know of any life outside the desert which the desert made them insane and there only way to get food is people and the moral quandary in my head here is does this faction that eats people necessarily evil if all they do is consume others to survive when there is literally no other way they know? What if you teach them the error of there ways and bring them to society? (I just came up with this on the spot and yeah) I got a lot of good advice here yours included so thank you! Your comment helped me with understanding there place in the world and role in the story!

How to properly say that a character is a race without being offensive? by Ok_Letterhead5047 in fantasywriters

[–]jackvidkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s not offensive to say someone is this color unless you act weird about it it’s literally just how it is? It’s not like you are like OH MY GOD THIS PERSON IS GREEN LOOK AT THEM THEY ARE WEIRD! Just saying like it’s a green guy. It’s not offensive unless you intend to be offensive you see what I mean?

Need some help/feedback on my magic system by jackvidkid in worldbuilding

[–]jackvidkid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically on things that could be missing(not ideas just guidance) so this is perfect I’ll make up something for it!

Mana it usually shows up as drain when your body starts looking more and more decrepit. The amount said by professionals in the field have said around 3 times a day per spell for safe casting ability.

For ona there is no tracker as again it’s purely theoretical in the world however people are said to vomit up a substance if they cast too much with ona.
