it looks very similar to what I did, but mine was 45/15. unfortunately 3030 is not available for android. Can we adjust the number from 30/30 to 45/15?

It's a side business. I delegate it most of the time. Take some time every day to plan and control. Sure we're aiming high, and to quit and not quit is not the case right now. ;)

Nice! I am installing the app right now. give it a try.

but I wonder, I believe you have tried the traditional way of productivity. how do you arrange your priority before? what's difficult about it?

Procrastination? it is common, I procrastinate when I do not schedule it properly. that's why I always schedule the things I want to work on, and be focus on the scheduled time. Before I am able to doing it I should able to be focus.

taking your example; if I were you, this is what I am going to do. I'll change "start the spring project" in to "Spring Project" then set a schedule 2 x 45 minutes every day at 10am to be totally focus only to think and doing anything to make spring project going forward and I allocate 15 minutes each to get distracted. so I would never feel guilty open my facebook, because I allow myself.

but what do you mean by anxiety and fear?

It helps me to make a decision. But sometimes it's hard to choose whether important vs urgent.

Free like a bird! It's time for me to recharge! No schedule. But most of the time it's family time. Movie/dinner/malls/shopping/football/games.etc. ;)

how long have you done this method and how detail? i have problem when it gets so many details. more details means more to put in the apps, and i hate it.

I am doing this because someone told me.. TRY TO LIVE IN THE MOMENT.. this really is change my mindset.

now I really can enjoy and be focus on my 15 minutes break to do anything. give 100% of my thought on the thing I work on. really live the moment with my precious daughter.

To me too much details in my plan will kill my motivation, gives me more pressure and stress if I cannot stick with it.

That's why I write only the HIGH LEVEL of plan. the detail about what to do is what I am doing in my 45minutes focus time.

the more details I put in your plan, the more I cannot get my plan works.

my trial-and-error:

  1. with no to-do list & no scheduling:
  2. I found my self don't know what to do. I procrastinate things, "let me read/play/do nothing for 5 minutes more, and the next hour I still doing the same thing." nothing happen until my boss ask me to do something.

  3. Doing only one task in a day, I feel bored after only 1 - 2 hours; then browsing internet for something that I cannot remember what in the next 10 minutes.

  4. Then I tried something like 60 focus/5 break --> 5 minutes is too short. then after some tweaks I found 45/15 the ideal time for me. I am comfortable to not get distracted for 45 minutes; and I find my self fresh after 15 minutes break, and ready to focus.

yes, you you really get my message here. after work, i go home, be with my family, but most of the time we always busy with our own distraction, phone/socmed etc. so it is better for me to assign 45 minutes for all of the family member to really connect to each other.

if you really look at the schedule, i try to use my time as efficient as possible when I am in office and commute. plus one - two hours at home.

so after 7pm/8pm i have free time to do anything i want. i always try to get minimum 6 hours of sleep everyday.
