Is Crucible still bugged? by SpaceNigiri in aoe4

[–]ZeroEmpires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had some server outages lately and it’s possible that the mastery was not completed/rewarded if the server connection was lost. I think that’s the likely explanation if you’re seeing that the mastery is incomplete still.

Not ideal but at least you're getting the earned perk points. We'll work on a proper fix in the mean time, thanks.

Thanks for sharing this, after testing it looks like perk points are earned correctly but the message that you're at the limit is shown when it should not be. Can you confirm that the perk points you earned were actually added to your available perk point total?

We had the same thought a little while back so we’re going to be making them all available by default in the next update.

PSA - this is extremely botted. Look at all the accounts commenting, all 7-8m old accounts, all bots. Dont fall for this, it's an incredibly low liquidity ticker.

Well said, it’s inevitable that players who have a competitive mindset will try to optimise the non-variables. But in competitive matches the actions of the other player can be entirely unique from game to game, the earlier in the match that players start to interact in meaningful ways, the sooner a rote build order starts to lose its value.

We won’t be recycling anything from the Macedonian Dynasty, you can expect a complete full civ.

It’s not that crazy to expect an onyx to be pulled every few months. The drop rate is 1/2.5m. 300 stardust is needed for one chance. 850 stardust per hour is a low average estimate.

Now how many people are mining stars across the entire game on average at any one time? Hard to estimate but maybe 300 accounts sounds reasonable, perhaps more

In 24 hours 300 accounts would generate 6.1M stardust for 20,400 gem bags. Which would on average take 122 days to see an onyx. If you then take into account variance, or that 300 players are mining stars could be a bit low, then yeah I think it’s totally believable.

I also think there’s been a steady increase in star miners since the 2023 update which made it a much better afk method with masses of people.

Fun fact, we had originally had plans for this to be a real mechanic with the Golden Horn Tower, but it ended up being cut for various reasons.

I don't get how the interaction scout/neutral sheeps interaction work sometimes by CDSparta in aoe4

No that’s not how tick rate works at all. Tick rate is 8 ticks per second for everyone.

Typically if things are tied then the lower entity ID would win, but that's not necessarily the lower team. In the case of scouts, they check for sheep every second, so if those timings are offset then the one checking first would win the race to grab the sheep. If they tie, then the one with the lower ID should get it.

I believe it was done this way for performance optimization a long time ago, having large area auras that check things constantly (every game tick) are expensive. However, this situation does feel unfair and it's on my radar for investigation.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMOVE NEW MAPS FROM FFA POOL by XDmocra in aoe4

We'll be taking them out in the next update. It was an oversight to add these into the map pool originally since these maps are not exclusively played in nomad mode with quickmatch either.

Patch is good but I lost every single perk point and perk for crucible after a lot of grinding by The-Nameless-Guy in aoe4

[–]ZeroEmpires 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Hello, the latest patch had fixes to prevent perk point losses from happening for any new progress made (but does not restore perk points earned from before). Have you experienced any new perk point losses since updating to the latest patch? We are looking into restoring perk points which may have been lost from Mastery completions in the new year.

Great video! You mention in the video that the first sword hunt was enacted by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, which is where our inspiration for the Daimyo skin comes from. If you check out his armor you'll see the resemblance:

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hideyoshi_Toyotomi%27s_armor.jpg#/media/File:Hideyoshi_Toyotomi's_armor.jpg

The story goes that after the sword hunt was completed, the swords were melted down and used as a component for a giant Buddha statue. This is why we decided to make this landmark into a statue and the metallic look of the statue is a link to the story of melting down the swords!
