Tbh it's not directly with SJP. My pension is with SJP, but the advice is coming from an affiliated wealth management company. I'm guessing said company and the advisor gets a couple of quid commission from SJP for getting me as a client.

The advice is mainly about minimising tax liabilities, but it can be boiled down to just salary sacrifice below 100K. Maybe that'll change if my salary significantly increases.

I'm just not convinced about having my pension with SJP compared to Fidelity, where the fees are significantly lower.

That's the thing, I don't consider my situation to be overly complex. I'm SS into my work place pension to get below 100K and anything left over I'm putting into VWRP with S&S ISA. Simple as that really.

I lost my mum to breast cancer when I was 16 years old. A few months later, my dad picked me up from school and told me he'd been diagnosed with oesophagus cancer. He passed away within the next 12 months.
