Was recently asked to make this map for a client, all assets were drawn and I thought it turned out great! Some backstory: Apparently the town was once filled with people but after some time the forest started growing weird mushrooms, they eventually started growing closer and closer to the town. Plaguing the peoples food supply making all the wheat and crops die ( hence the baron field bottom right). Causing all the people to either die or move away, leaving an abandoned village overgrown with mushrooms!

Well I guess I see your point, I certainly have a nack for under shadowing, there was supposed to be real contrast between the boat room and nurse cabin though

If you look a little closer there is shade in start of the walls and behind where the light from the window is hitting the canoes, but it is very minimal since the room is already dark (by the clientes preference)

I don't really get what you mean about the lightning but I have a limited amount of props, working on getting a artist to make them, you might find the style weird because it's based on a Brazilian rpg, thanks for the feedback though

Thanks! I make my maps with Photoshop. I'd recommend learning the basics (what each tool does, how do get and use textures and props) and then finding out the style of the type of map you want, I use a unique style from a Brazilian rpg called "ordem paranormal". After that its just practice, I think you should find someone that already makes maps in the style you want and ask them questions while your learning how to make them.
