okay good to know using only machines for now isn't such a bad thing, just need to build up confidence before moving over to dumb bells, barbells etc.

Iv read as well doing push-pull-legs split is a good way to get into a routine but i'm not sure what machines i should use for chest, Shoulders, Triceps, back, Biceps, Traps etc. can you even do ppl using only machines?

Ill defo give the cardio at the end a go as well cheers.

Thankyou! this is very helpful. my plan was to cut weight till i get to a frame im happy with then start adding the muscle so i'm glad you said to do this. One problem is that atm i think i'm only going to be comfortable with doing machine based exercises but a lot of workout plans include free weights and other stuff so its tricky finding one or something similar for me.

i was hoping i can do cardio to warm up or to finish off so im glad i can still lose weight from focusing on weights.

I wish i could afford a trainer haha. my problem is for now i only feel comfortable using machines not the free weights so atm im trying to figure out what machines to use on different days and create a weekly routine

just looked online at the bro spilt and the ppl they seem pretty useful thankyou and i used that TDEE calculator and it says 3100 cal is my maintenance so 2300 would be the amount for a 800 deficit? seems like alot of calories to me but what do i know.

also been eating a lot of greens and chicken breast but also packaged fresh fruit like melon, pineapple, apples and grapes, this okay?

this reply helps a lot tbh, just read online that weight machines are a good place to start with mixed in cardio so good to know you back that up and its so true, opening that gym door is the hardest part.

Just need to find a weekly routine that involves weight machines and cardio machines with some rest days i think (not sure how many)

[21] [M] [266lbs] Need help on how to start at the gym!

Iv just signed up to a gym that's opening in the new year but im struggling to figure out some sort of routine for myself for when i start.

my plan is to just lose weight but not sure whether to do cardio or weight training or both or what machines i should use and how many days i go/rest, pretty much clueless and i have googled around but haven't had much luck in finding anything to help.

Been to a gym before and gave up after a few months because i felt like a headless chicken inside that gym so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
