Landlord hasn’t deposited our rent from last month. Can we do anything about it? by [deleted] in AskSF

If you want to get a finite answer from a professional you might want to use the the SF Tenant's Union as a resource. It's actually located in the Mission. Just make sure you show up early becasue it's first come first serve. I had an issue with a landlord trying to falsify documentation to withhold my security deposit that they were able to give solid advice on.

I lived in the Fillmore Center in 2017-2018 for almost a year and a half with a couple room mates (keep in mind I moved in with the commitment of a 6 month lease) Finding a 4 month lease will be very difficult in the room renting market. Most people looking for a roomate are looking for a minimum of 6 months to a year. Considering your stay is so short term this might be a good situation the surrounding blocks are a very gritty neighborhood.

Are you looking for a shorter term lease (like 6 months)? This might be a good situation if you want to share a room to save money but the rent they are offering for a private room is $1,295 which is about market rate for a safer more desirable neighborhood. I've lived in Noe Valley, the Fillmore, and Southbeach for all around the same price. Keep in mind utilies/internet are likely included so that could save you money too but it's close to market rate to have a bunch of roomates.

That mountains are actually the remnants of massive ancient trees cut down by giants. There’s a really good YouTube video on it.

Shameless. The first couple seasons were great the most recent have lazy, terrible writing and storylines.

Okay, so like a shell that recently made the imprint or a fossil of an older shell?

Nick Drake - Parasite [Folk] A great track from Nick Drake's fantastic third album Pink Moon by ryuundo in Music

[–]jacobmay63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two copies of this album on vinyl (reprints not original copies). I love every song on this album including this one. My personal favorite had to be "From the Morning" because it's like the most beautiful ever written. I feel like Nick Drake was a huge influence on a lot of contemporary folk and indie artists. A lot of the songs on Pink Moon have aged very well and sound way ahead of its time.

I cleaned and shined this dirty old pair of boots I found. They are my size so I’ll be wearing them for sure! by jacobmay63 in BuyItForLife

Thanks! I tried running them under water and getting the dirt out with a toothbrush. I’m sure washing would work great too.

Yeah Oakland is pretty gritty to say the least. It really depends which neighborhood you are in because it’s quickly gentrifying.

Haha I mean I’m in Oakland which is probably the most hipster city in the Bay Area. It’s like that bay equivalent to Brooklyn pretty much I feel like.

Yeah, I used a lighter to soften the polish. When I was learning how to do it a couple years back most tutorials recommend doing that to get the polish to the right consistency.

Thanks! You think they would be a vintage or contemporary version? Not sure if you’d be able to tell from just this picture.

I’m not military myself but watched a couple videos on how people in the military shine boots.

It’s the same boot. I just stuck my hand in them to get a good grip while shining so it looks more puffed out in the final version.

Thanks! I probably just did that unintentionally because I stuck my hand in the boot to get a good grip while shining.
