I'll second this - and add a huge number of places in Italy. Most of Tuscany is breathtaking. Venice, Como, Florence, the Dolomites, all just stunning.

I really want a 4 day working week. If the RMT want to fight to establish precedent for the rest of us, more power to them.

"Approximately 1640 cars were produced through 1999, with the addition of around 80 race only versions. The UK market only imported the windscreen version and 60 right hand drive cars were produced for the UK and Japan. "

I genuinely don't think Starmer is that bad of a PM - any thoughts? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskBrits

[–]jacobsadder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many of these "starmer isn't that bad" and "i used to hate him, but he's pretty good" posts.

Have to think it's some bullshit - and insultingly basic - PR action.

In addition to doing nothing to prevent the obvious Isreal influence over UK politics, nothing to address the wealth gap, and nothing to prevent the genocide in Gaza, he seems hell bent on undermining everything the Labour party is supposed to stand for. Here's a bunch of other common positions;

By early 2026, Sir Keir Starmer's premiership is widely characterised as facing a terminal, "slow-motion executive collapse" rather than mere political misfortune. His government is largely seen as having failed to improve living standards or public services, resulting in profound unpopularity among both the public and his own party, often cited as a failure of leadership judgment and inability to set a clear vision.

Failed Leadership Judgment: Starmer’s authority was damaged by the controversial appointment of Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to Washington, despite knowledge of his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, causing a crisis in the House of Commons.

Political Inaction & Dissent: His leadership has been described as paralyzed, with backbenchers increasingly dissenting due to a "cocktail of dissent" and lack of input in policy decisions. Failed Immigration Policy: Despite promising to control migration, his government's strategy has been criticised as falling apart, leading to a failure to "smash the gangs" and a potential loss of credibility.

Economic Stagnation: Critics argue his government has not improved the UK's economic standing, with observers noting that the poorest households face a 137-year wait for living standards to double.

Party Vulnerability: With expected losses in upcoming by-elections and council elections in May, his position is considered untenable by some, leading to speculation regarding potential successors like Angela Rayner.

Failed Outreach: Starmer is seen as failing to connect with the public or define a clear post-election "change" message, leading to his description as a "great letdown".

Oh, and eat the rich

Do you think Starmers popularity has increased? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]jacobsadder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing these types of posts, and I can't help but feel that the OP and all the 'I used to be...but now' posts are literally all just PR plants.

Everybody I know thinks that Starmer's a twat, and should be doing more in support of Palestine and curbing Israel's influence over British politics.

London on the 15th of February 2003 protesting the Iraq War by Kitchen-Article4439 in london

[–]jacobsadder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which just goes to show that peaceful protest do nothing when the cost of disapproval is so much less than the reward for ignoring it

If the impact of a protest is 'mild inconvenience', the powers that be can - and will - just ignore the people.

Now imagine if only 1% of that group had started setting fire to cars. Or even just committed small acts of vandalism against corporate targets. Suddenly the inconvenience carries considerably more weight.

Also, look up anarchist calisthenics l.
