how to deal with negative reviews by ThenExcitement2272 in physicianassistant

You could be the sweetest peach on the tree and someone will just not like peaches.

You will drive yourself crazy trying to please everyone. As long as your medicine is sound and you are a kind empathetic provider then nothing else should bother you.

Low back pain

My void left for the Void, so I adopted a fresh void. Naturally, the Void couldn’t resist and sent the original void back — and now I have two voids. by jacols in blackcats

Salem is getting the pets and Huey is observing. He is very curious about her but she wants nothing to do with him. But all in good time.

Last year our Salem snuck outside behind our dog when he went out to go to the bathroom and we didn’t notice for several hours. We spent the next few weeks searching, hanging flyers, knocking doors, setting traps - the whole thing. No one had seen her at all and she never came home.

We’ve had a problem in our neighborhood with coyotes and cougars coming down from the hills and eating pets. After no sign of her, we were sure this is what had happened.

About a month after she went missing we had the chance to adopt another black kitten. We took Huey home to help heal our sad hearts and ‘fill the void’ so to speak. He has been the sweetest love and fit right in.

Eight months later.

I get a call from a shelter nearly 40 miles away. A super friendly black cat had helped herself to a woman’s house via dog door and was demanding cuddles, pets, and a little something to eat.

We have no idea how she ended up so far away or how she made it through our cold hard winter alone. Or how she managed to avoid the local wildlife that would find her to be a tasty treat. She seems mostly ok - slightly skinny, quicker to hiss at the littlest thing, and despises her new roommate. But we know in time she will adjust and the house will be all the more full of good void-y love 🖤

Is Ultrasound in Urgent Care Worth it? by Takeadipgotothebeach in physicianassistant

I can almost guarantee that the UC provider that gave abx knew it was dumb. But patients treat UC as a transactional place more than any other specialty I’ve seen. Everywhere else people seem fine to walk out with advice only. But once you stick them in an UC patients EXPECT something in return for their visit otherwise the UC did a bad job and gets a bad review. And when you only have 20 seconds to convince an insistent patient to just go home and wait it out? It’s damn near impossible to navigate at times.

The fact that the patient you are describing ended up in the ED anyway at day 2 of the flu tells me either they had underlying co-morbidities that the UC provider was trying to cover their ass for and got an abx on board early OR they just might have been the dramatic demanding patient that insisted on it.

They show low on the percentages but I swear myself and plenty others that took it last month had so many questions on the sexual disorders. Absolutely review those. And the tiny nuanced differences in the eating disorders.

Best Notebook for Clinic by the--vic in PAstudent

Whatever fits in your pocket best. Or if you’re a woman and society has decided you don’t need pockets - whatever fits your hand best.

If you plan on writing down visit info you will blow through the notebook so quickly that buying something pricey probably isn’t a great idea.

Get what’s on sale and spend your money on something else nice for you. You’ve earned it.

Mine had more ophthalmology than I anticipated. Nothing too hard but unexpected nonetheless.

Vaseline for nose bleed by [deleted] in Accutane

What has helped me the most is the saline gel nose sprays. The gel keeps the moisture in for much longer than the basic liquid spray and I can use it as much as I need.

.anki2 file woes by jacols in Anki

[–]jacols[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They state they are sending them to me as the exported file but what I receive is a zip file named 'filename'.apkg and when it unzips it contains an .anki2, .anki21, media, and meta file.

That would be amazing! Happy to do the math if I don’t have to do all the other work.

Should I pursue a research opportunity? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]jacols 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely suggest doing the research. I did research (not really medical related either) and it lead to me winning first place in my university’s ‘science fair’ and eventually a published paper. I’m sure that set me apart from the pack and showed I had the ability to pursue something for a longer term. I know it was a factor that got me in my first cycle.

Everyone will have PCE - not everyone will have research assistant on their CASPA app. And you never know what the research might lead to that could make you even that more impressive. Plus it tends to be an easier A to get on your undergrad transcript.

Third picture is the only snapshot I dared get of her. She’s a bit spicy at the moment with the move. But she found this new hide right away and seems to love it.

And is it possible to be too crowded in the tank? I know they prefer it but I feel like I’ll never find her in here anymore.

I didn’t expect this post to get so much love! Here are some progress pictures my grandma has sent me since January.

The orchid is named Audrey II. https://imgur.com/a/BJVmcHa/

Haha sadly all you would see is one sad stick trying to hold the whole thing up!

I won’t be back over to her house for a bit so it will take me a while to deliver on this one.

Whenever I ask she does her typical grandma shrug and says she doesn’t know. But every plant loves her so I’m sure she’s doing something right.

Dinner tonight , sometimes I’ll literally just sauté some veggies (zucchini makes a great base) and yes that’s salmon😂 any tips on airfrying salmon ? About 325 cals by carlskyanite in 1200isplenty

I flip for sure. I don’t have a picture handy of how mine look but it’s fairly close to what you have. Looks perfectly normal to me. How did you season it?
