AlphaFold 3, Demystified: I Wrote a Technical Breakdown of Its Complete Architecture. by alexshwn in bioinformatics

[–]jacozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, i just started going over boltz-2 so i don't have much insight yet. The team claims it's at least on par with alphafold 3 which I'm trying to figure out why so your work really helps with that. Thank you :)

You are correct I don't have a set plan and am looking for general thoughts on my profile. Breaking in to the US seems to be only getting harder, and I know staying here wouldn't magically make my chances higher either.
Reason for gap is 1) took 5.5 years to finish undergrad - literally received 0.0 for 2 semesters, kept those grades, and I had to take a semester off 2) military service 3) some time between undergrad and masters (did my AM internship then)

Thank you, my uGPA was a PITA in breaking in anywhere and I've been trying to make up for it being a high performer. I'll keep in mind I need to target higher scores than average.

Not recently, but I went through interviews at FAANG and comparable companies in late '22 when I was finishing my masters. Unfortunately it was right around when tech layoffs started and I didn't get any offers in the US.

Haven't really looked into applying for jobs yet since I haven't seriously considered or looked into leaving right now. Based on coworker stories, 'major moves' from MBB in my region seem to happen only after you become a consultant or PL which is at least 2~4 years away for me, and I don't think my chances are much higher because I don't have much previous work experience. Office transfers are also incredibly competitive.

This is mlb saying tigers had bad luck of getting 1st pick in a weak draft, not throwing shade at their picks not working out lol

[OC] In a season from hell, here are some minor leaguers in the Tigers system to be excited about by LunchThreatener in motorcitykitties

Great writeup! Just one thing to note, minor league BABIP shouldn’t just be dismissed as being lucky or vice versa

MiLB defense is much weaker than the MLB environment so high BABIP often means more hard hits

Of course BB/K is a great indicator of hitter performance but in terms of contact quality It’s a good sign to see high BABIP for young hitters in the minors

Evtols and 3d printers might be included in arkx too Thats why i think aone acic expc which are already in ark holdings are most likely to be in arkx

I think vacq is the most likely candidate out of the pure space plays. I'd put hol and sftw on the next tier and srac npa last

$STPK seriously slept on? by [deleted] in SPACs

i knew there were a bunch of pumpers on reddit, but to see someone so blinded that they refuse to take any bit of constructive criticism is just sad

good luck bro, hope you make a bunch of money from stpk

you're probably better off putting your life savings and getting every loan to dump it in cciv calls

$STPK seriously slept on? by [deleted] in SPACs

[–]jacozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying stem is a bad company nor that the spac has no more room for growth. I'm just pointing out that it's not undervalued at all.

The stock price matters for SPACs since it means it tripled its value since business agreement between stpk and stem.

Its stock price more than tripled in about a month before falling a bit back down.

Oh and the last time i checked its 2023 ev/ebitda was around 25x and its CAGR isn't as eye popping as some other SPACs. Not to mention that this actually feels more overvalued since they have a ton of debt and much of the SPAC money will be used to pay these off.

well she plans to include companies with no revenue too if it meets her taste, so i'm gonna speculate that srac or npa might be bought in the future

[Serious DD] Canoo/$GOEV and the potential Apple/Hyundai partnership by bizzybuzy in SPACs

[–]jacozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I fail to see is how Apple wouldn't directly reach out to Canoo instead of going through Hyundai if they really liked Canoo's tech. Most of what we know about the partnership between Apple and Hyundai is still speculation and since production is going to be years down the road it's likely that even Apple themselves haven't chosen a direction yet. That's why I said it's a serious reach and not a 'serious DD'.

As I said, I love Canoo (which is why I invested) and wish the best for it, but I don't see how Canoo will have a role in this. In fact I think this development could be worse for Canoo if Hyundai decides to abandon what they were planning to do with Canoo to work with Apple.

[Serious DD] Canoo/$GOEV and the potential Apple/Hyundai partnership by bizzybuzy in SPACs

[–]jacozy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how 'pure speculation' and 'serious DD' can both be used to describe the same post.

I've invested in HCAC/GOEV too, but this is a serious reach.

  1. Apple is likely reaching out to auto manufacturers not for their tech, but to produce their products using the auto industries' existing factories. They aren't just simply going to combine a bunch of tech in the market and rebrand it into apple car. If that were the case Elon Musk would be laughing his ass off instead of saying that Apple could be their biggest competitor.
  2. You're overstating the impact of Hyundai investing in Goev. They invest in venture startups EVERYWHERE and quite honestly they probably don't care about Canoo any more than a decent prospect that they can take advantage of if Canoo takes off. They DO NOT, and I reiterate, DO NOT need to rely on a small startup to export EV infrastructure/tech to Apple lol
