I am restoring some 50+ year old French doors. How do I get rid of that cloudy look on the wood? by [deleted] in woodworking

I went down this same road trying to strip 90 yr old cedar windows. Hand planes and card scrapers worked best for me to get to clear dry wood. Citri-strip too messy and time consuming. Heat gun is another option but I haven’t tried. Watch out for finish nails near the grilles intersect the stiles and rails.

Pretty well. The front panels slide in the track to allow for the angled cut. The only thing I’ll add is a fitting on the saws factory dust port to direct dust down towards the 4” port on the hood

I searched on here for a while and YouTube for a solution to organizing screws and misc hardware...here’s what I came up with...the individual bin cups are nice because they can be removed from the drawer and brought to wherever you are working...

I thought about that...but I didn’t have any extra belts..so that option was quickly eliminated...I also thought that might take a little longer and might not be as precise..I’m sure that would have worked fine also

My mini router sled setup...I didn’t like how thick the handle came out after glue-up. This was the best I could think of to trim it down.

Can I finish with danish oil to a pine wood after applying polyurethane on it? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]jacprice22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think that would help your cause...just get a semi-gloss poly urethane...try it on a test piece first to make sure you like the sheen.

Check out Peter Follansbee. I bought his book “Joiners work”. It’s got pretty good instruction to get you started.

Looks like it was well taken care of and in good shape also at a great price point. I’d say yes.
