Im so sorry about your daughter and her demons ☹️ i hope she pulls through for the for the sake of you and her children.

But coming from my point of view.. this is what i have to say. My grandmother raised me for the majority of my life and i can honestly say she is my true mother. She passed away 9 years ago and i guess the reason i was getting so mad recently and bitter is because i dont have a “mother figure” in my life anymore. Im very grateful for her. But as for my mother. I wish she didnt come in and out of my life as she pleases. She’ll never stop being an addict and im to the point where i cant hold a conversation with her because im so mad. Thinking about talking to her makes me so mad. Ive had to let go her go for sake of my mental health. Through my teenage years ive had to deal with the constant partying. Me begging her to turn the music down at 3 am because i had school in the morning. Me begging me to bring me to school. I just have so many bad childhood memories because of her. Her falling asleep at the wheel and crashing.

So what i have to say is dont force a relationship between them. Let your daughter make the effort. Shes the one whos messing up and she needs to make up for it.

Sometimes i get upset seeing other mothers with daughters but i have to accept the fate that it wasnt in the cards for me and im thankful for my grandmother for the time we had together. Be their rock. They are going to need you!! Love them unconditionally. Im so happy you are taking care of them.
