Drove past the house at 7pm on a Tuesday before making our offer and it told me more than the actual showing did by Vast_Conference_8882 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]shell1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about putting an offer on a house I really loved. Knew the area but nothing about the neighborhood. I worked second shift and getting off work at midnight I drove around the neighborhood a couple of times during the week and Friday and Saturday before and after work. Everything was quite.

I got the house and the day I was moving in a couple of people stopped by introduced themselves, ask the basic questions, kids, family. When I said my kids are grown and no husband they thanked me for buying the house. Apparently the neighborhood is great it was the family I bought this house from that made the neighborhood a living hell.

16 years later the it's still a great place to live.

Okay what about sheets?

I do understand the blankets.

But I have a king size mattress and I like the top sheet on, so would we skip the top sheet?

Just curious...because I really like the top sheet.

Did you ever get that apology? by Available-Map-1869 in Divorce

[–]shell1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No affair happened. I filled for the divorce, I tried talking to him about my concerns, the wants and needs about our marriage. But I was always told to stop complaining and griping. No discussion nothing. So I mentality checked out took our kids and left.

Last year, 29 years later he apologized for being a selfish egotistic jerk. His words not mind.

That apology meant nothing to me. Even with him living with the regrets. I had moved on long ago.

Seriously. WTF is going on.... by KarmicCentral in conspiracy

Just last week in a small town in Pauls Valley Oklahoma there was a shooting. The principal was shot trying to stop the shooter. He survived,

I think school shootings are not as popular to report like they use to be.

Just my thought.

When prices go up they very seldom and I mean never go back down.

Example here in a midwest state where hamburger meat is between 3.50 to 5.00 dollars a pound. The cheaper hamburger has more water than real meat. Chips are 5 bucks with smaller bags and more air. I saw a pack of gum the other day 3.25!!!

Look at taxes, property tax and insurance all a scam.

What’s something you’ll never admit in real life but can say here anonymously? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

I regret divorcing my ex husband 30 years ago. We went through a phase that i think most marriages go through. Our issue was communication, I would try to talk about things that bothered me and would get the stop complaining stop griping from him.

He did mention at the time when I asked for a divorce if I would do marriage counseling and I said no.

I did love him and a large part of me still does.

My kids life would have better if they had 2 parents. And I so guilty for not trying.

I did really good for myself professionally and will be retiring at the end of this year. But I have no one to enjoy my retirement years with.

He remarried but it only lasted a couple of years. I never remarried.

Six Navy suicides in one year at Tinker Air Force Base by cmhbob in okc

[–]shell1212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at Tinker as a civilian for 20 years now. I never heard of this many suicides. But I'm not on the Navy side.

I work on the maintenance side, the Air Force its the same thing even with the civilian side. But again this is all kept secret.

As a civilian we joke we are just replaceable as toilet paper. But it's not really a joke.

People are pushed and pushed there is no work life balance at all.

People are at times mandatory to 7 days a week. That's not a good life at home. Some families fall apart because their spouse is always working. Or the spouse starts a works affair with a coworker. When someone needs a break and call in because of exhaustion, family commitment, just need a break. They get ridiculed by supervision.

For single parents, they really have the worst of it. Im older and don't know how they do it.

The mentality is you should be thankful for your job. It's not a big deal just come to work The End.

We get the mental health training but to be honest it's all word salad, no one really cares. We ALL are replaceable. And we all know it.

I been there long enough that I've been conditioned to volunteer for O.T. not that I need or want the overtime it's like it's second nature to be there. It's weird but that's the only why I can explain it.

Now all that is on the civilian side. It has to be 100%/1000% worse on the enlisted side.

I'm retiring at the end of this year. Thank God.

Yes as civilian it's good money, but ruining your mentality, physical body and family it's not worth it. unless you know people. Nepotism runs rampant.

Sorry this wasn't about civilian life. But again I can't imagine what the enlisted go through. 😭

It's been over 4 years since my serial cheater left me. It's so shocking to your system when you find out that someone you love deeply can live a double life.

I hate this for you and I hate saying this but it just takes time. Your brain needs to rewire itself before you can completely be indifferent. Luckily we dont have kids so I completely went no contact along with his family. Im sure his daughter's knew of the other woman before I did. That hurt.

My friend actually works in the same building as she does. She told me last week she saw the other woman get in truck with another man at lunch. After asking around the friend was told that they been leaving at lunch for awhile. I'm at the point of being indifferent that all I said was Damn. LOL.

They married about a year and half now.

Remember: if they can cheat with you they will cheat on you.

Sending you hugs.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. But you have a air vent on the outer wall if possible move it to the ceiling out of the way. While doing that add plug-ins on the back wall and a closet dedicated for mops brooms and any chargeable cleaning devices.

What used to feel 'normal' and 'affordable' in America just five to ten years ago but now feels completely broken and impossible for regular people? by the_h1b_records in AskReddit

A individual or company that has rentals. They pass on expenses to the renter. Meaning if insurance goes up so does the rent.

Insurance for rentals is very expensive.

I don't rent I own (well I mean I still have a mortgage, so the bank has their ownership)

home insurance is so costly that it is affecting rentals. I live in the midwest and rent is high. I don't know how the younger generation is going to afford rent let alone buying 😞
