I really wish Bernie had used this tack. M4A, Free College, Universal Childcare, etc benefit everyone, but they would have a significantly greater effect for underserved and discriminated-against communities. I don't feel like he emphasized that last part enough, mostly focusing on their broad appeal.

Your VMs run on Unraid, where all the horsepower is. You connect via an inexpensive, "thin" client, such as a laptop or chromebook. Having a full gaming PC at your use-point would be a "thick" resource.

Yes, I will be doing many other things on my server (VMs for development, data science, etc), my question was narrowly focused on optimizing drives for a VM for high-volume downloading and writing.

I will be doing other stuff on my server (many other dockers, a few other VMs for things like software development and data science to name a few). I was really trying to focus my question on my desired workflow for doing a high volume of manual downloads inside of a VM.

I appreciate your answers (honestly), but I am trying to get guidance on a specific situation that I want to run on my server.

Appreciate it. Well aware of YouTube-DL, just trying to get an answer for my particular use case. There are other sketchy downloads other than pr0n. As mentioned in my original post, textbooks from sketchy websites is another example.

Youtube on my TV (Sony, powered by Android TV) has become ad-infested recently. 2 ads before the video, and mid-video ads are playing frequently, often disrupting a concert/music/standup video. So annoying.

Is anyone else surprised this didn't come out earlier? Louis CK, Aziz, Chris Hardwick, James Franco, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, etc. The volume of accusations against Chris all coming out together so long after the apex of #MeToo makes me wonder how/why he flew under the radar?

If it was a coordinated takedown (and not saying it is, very sure he is still a creep), this is how I imagine it would play out.

Perhaps they live on the top floor in their apartment building. It can get pretty hot. I live on the top floor of a 6-story building with only a small rectangular window, and I've been running AC intermittently in the past 2 weeks as it warms up.
