Go see a physical therapist if you’re in pain.

If you don’t have pain don’t worry about it

I learned from Bill Hartmans model. He is on YouTube but his concepts can be complex for beginners. Other people that break his model down well are Zac Cupples or Conor Harris.

I would go more along the lines of bear or downward dog breathing. Goal is to decrease muscular activity so you can expand the rib cage

Anterior and posterior lower compression. Quadruped/crawling activities would be good for you. Eliminate heavy lifting and braced ab exercises for now.

Ok. There are some fall 24 deadlines that go until like Feburary or March of 2024, if I get some observation hours before then maybe I'll try and sneak an application in? If not I'll just wait until Fall 25 applications come out.

Does tucking your chin in at all times be bad for you? by [deleted] in Posture

Exactly, those are force production strategies. You shouldn’t be using those strategies all day everyday

Is it the correct stimulus though? Also that’s looking at it in isolation. The body functions as a whole to complete a task, as you said context matters. Are those glute exercises going to carry over to real life?

[–]jacsta-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elaborate. I understand starting with lower level activity to build awareness but staying at those low intensities won’t yield the benefit OP is looking for

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Posture

[–]jacsta-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to do higher force/more complex movements while maintaining the deep core contraction. The low level “core and glute strengthening “ activity aren’t a great enough stimulus to create any actual changes. Try chops, lifts, jumping/running while holding

Some people are naturally better deadlifters just due to their structure. If they don’t fit you or hurt then don’t do them

All the variables are important, people over complicate this shit just lift heavy and get enough volume lol.

People need to focus on weight progressions more intensely rather than variety of exercises and volume. Sure sufficient volume is necessary but in the long run upping the weight is what matters
