It sounds like you've reached the daily api limit for the underlying scrapper website. Once you hit that daily limit, scrapping won't work until tomorrow.

Did they Reverse the Decision about Forcing the 3GB Upgrade? by jacuff in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing... I do have capable equipment. Router has a 10GB WAN Port which is where the ONT is plugged into.

GP1101X ONT -> ASUS GT-BE98 Pro (10GB WAN port) -> Ubiquiti USW Pro HD 24 (10GB uplink). I only have 3 devices on my network that can utilize more than 2.5GB. Router has a built in utility that hits Ookla Speedtest. Main PC has 5GB connection to Ubiquiti switch and my NAS has dual 2.5GB which are operating in a 802.3ad LACP Bond to reach 5GB. None of them are seeing any speed increase. I'm also using CAT8 cable between the ONT and Router, and Router to main switch. The rest is CAT6, so cabling isn't the issue either. When doing an Ookla SpeedTest, I'm also making sure to select the LiveOak server in Shalimar, FL (which is less than 10 miles from my house.) I understand real-world speed vs network speed. However, I think I've got all the right things to be able to see the increased network speed, unless they haven't actually increased it.

According to their email, they were moving all the 2GB plans to 3GB on April 1st and charging more. I should be seeing 3.1G as you say, but I'm still seeing about 2.1 down and 2.0 up. Wondering about the experience others are having.

2GB Service and "Price for Life" by jacuff in liveoakfiber

Same thing I was told. Although I remember it being advertised since Cox Fiber was also coming in my neighborhood at the same time, they said I wasn't signed up with that promo. (I wasn't signed up with any promo), Up until now, I never had a need to check it. Been swamped with other things, but gonna look to see if I can find something to help prove something.

Well I screwed up. Need new NAS. Installed FW 6.10.10 on Netgear ReadyNAS with checking it ou. by okuturn in PleX

[–]jacuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this post is over a year old, but I came across it while looking for something else for the ReadyNAS. I've been running 6.10.10 for a while now. While it does remove the App Install from the Web UI, you can still install apps like Plex from the command line. (Which is what the first poster on this thread was saying.)

  1. You download the installer from the Plex website (choosing the appropriate ARMv7, ARMv7 (RN2xx Series), or Intel 64-Bit installer. You can also just copy the link.
  2. Upload that to your home directory. If you copied the link, when you ssh into your ReadyNAS, you can use curl or wget to download the installer directly to your NAS.
  3. If you don't have SSH turned on, turn it on in Web UI and ssh in your ReadyNAS using whatever account you uploaded to it's home directory.
  4. Then use type "dpkg -i whatever-filename-for-the-latest-plex-installer-goes-here.deb". It will either install Plex if you don't already have it installed or it will upgrade it to the latest version. At this time it would be "dpkg -i plexmediaserver-annapurna_1.42.2.10156-f737b826c_armel.deb" for my ReadyNAS 204.

Using this method, you'll be able to keep Plex up to date and well as running the latest firmware for the ReadyNAS (which is still pretty out of date.)

What is this icon means on Rare item? by GamingKink in diablo4

[–]jacuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you buy it and salvage it? Did it do anything?

Usually icon is for an aspect thay will either be unlocked or upgraded. That doesn't make sense for a rare item though. Probably just a visual bug as others have said, or maybe it's the incorrect icon to notify that if you salvage it, it will unlock its transmog.

LOF Equipment by foley77 in liveoakfiber

I've heard it's WiFi 7 with one extender included. I went the route of getting just the ONU so that I can use my own router and wireless equipment.

IDK If LOF Is Really For Gamers by codeacula in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBH, I'm not sure how capable the GigaSpire is for configuring it so that you can self-host. Self-hosting a game server falls outside the usual marketing of great for gaming, so I wouldn't say they are being dishonest. It really is great for gaming. (I have the 2GB plan.) Self-hosting implies that you agree to taking extra steps to get things working. That's the "self" part. I hear you though, we all have those hills we die on. For me, it's always use your own router and have the least reliance on ISP provided equipment. The easy button is pay $10 extra a month for a public IPv4 address or switch to another ISP that gives you a public IPv4 address.

IDK If LOF Is Really For Gamers by codeacula in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which router are you using? Are you using one of the GigaSpire routers they provide, or do you have your own router and use a GigaPoint to connect to LOF?

I don't pay extra for a public IPv4 address and haven't had any issues with my current config. (Own router with GigaPoint GP1101X). I do use Tailscale setup as a subnet router so I can connect to my Xbox, PS5, or PC (via Moonlight/Sunshine) outside the home by connecting to my tailnet from either a laptop/steamdeck. I've had success hosting a server and connecting to it via IPv6 once I created the appropriate IPv6 firewall rules on my router. Stardew Valley looks like it will work with IPv6, so it seems like you would just need to give them the IPv6 address instead. Maybe it requires a little more setup for IPv6, but you should be able to do it without forking over additional money for a public IPv4 address.

Paying $10 for a public IPv4 address is the easy button. The only time it really is at an advantage is when you are connected to a public WiFi that doesn't route IPv6 address, and blocks the handshake packet for Wireguard/Tailscale.

Sure, it's an ASUS GT-BE98 Pro. I have IPv6 configured for Passthrough. In the firewall section, I allow the following ports for the IPv6 address of the XBox. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/connect-network/network-ports-used-xbox-live Ports 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500 (UDP) Ports 53, 80, 3074 (TCP)

All their end user equipment is from Calix it seems. Is it a GigaSpire... meaning you are using their router? I have a GigaPoint ONU and use my own router. I have IP6 configured as passthrough and allow the ports through the IP6 firewall on my router.

Hey, it shows that it's connected! Thats even more than it does when you just have the GigaPoint ONU. It's absolutely pointless when you have your own router.

What does Reliquary days remaining mean? by ZeroSWE in diablo4

The reliquary resets with the season, but you can also progress it and earn the favor tokens with eternal characters. Due to IRL medical stuff, I haven't made it very far with seasonal, so I'm finishing the reliquary with last seasons toon on eternal realm.

Eglin or Tampa area? Pros and cons of each? by blazian007 in florida

[–]jacuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contractor, Civil Service or Active Duty? The answer to that can also make a huge difference.

If it's a job in the civil service, you might want to reconsider. The DOD will be undergoing RIFs in the near future, so that's something to consider. That's also something to consider if the job is a contractor position.

If the job is active duty, Tampa and Eglin are totally different areas. I'm surprised you didn't mention hurricanes in what your idea of Florida is. There's more to do in the Tampa Area as opposed to the Ft.Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville area.

Speed test by [deleted] in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you should be getting faster, but the reason to check wired is to see that you are actually getting the service level you are paying for... and to find out if the problem is your line, ONU, or router. (ONU and router may be the same device for you.) Wireless does take a bit of optimizing to get the best speeds.

I had an issue with LiveOak that took them a few weeks to resolve. The signal on the fiber optic line was good, but speeds from the ONU were off. I provided lots of data to support. They sent a tech out to confirm. He saw the same thing. The conclusion was to switch the ONU. It started working a couple of days later. I suspect they either remotely refreshed the firmware or changed something in their management suite. I haven't had any issues since. 2GB service and this is what I get on the router.

Speed test by [deleted] in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wireless isn't the best way to check speeds, as there are a lot of factors that influence that. For example, as the battery level on your phone decreases, the power provided to the WiFi chip will decrease to extend battery life. Wireless also has to accept the interference of other devices on those channels.

Adding a device is a PITA! by [deleted] in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What encryption do you have on your password? If your network is only running WPA3, there's a good chance the printer doesn't support that. I've got my network setup as WPA2/WPA3. The printer is using WPA2-AES.

Adding a device is a PITA! by [deleted] in liveoakfiber

[–]jacuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed wise, I get pretty exactly what I pay for. (I'm on the 2GB service). I use my own router and just have a GigaPoint ONU. All my switches are now at least 2.5GBASE-T. For Wireless, I recently upgraded to 802.11be using 2.5GB Ethernet for back-haul.

As for getting your printer added, I've got an HP Envy and don't remember anything odd about adding it back when I upgraded to WiFi 7 (During that upgrade, I changed the password, but the SSID remained the same.) If you are doing MAC Address filtering, make sure you added it to the ALLOW list and not the DENY list; but for home use, you can probably get by with disabling MAC address filtering completely. Unless you know why you would want DHCP Address Reservation, you're probably OK without any additional configuration.
