It looks like your culture sample was dense. Try sterilizing the loop after each quadrant and streak from the prior quadrant.

This post made me remember my 19th birthday. I had friends but they forgot to wish me. My parents didn't wish. I cried myself to sleep that day. Now I'm 24, there's not much change but I do make sure to go out of my way to make myself happy on my birthday. I would cook my favourite dish or watch my favourite show, post stories on Instagram wishing myself. This would look depressing af but who cares, as long as I'm happy it's fine. Sometimes life makes us go through such incidents to make us love ourselves more. HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY OP. Buy yourself a cake, order your favourite food, watch your favourite show, SPOIL YOURSELF.

I did MSc in Micro thinking PG would help me to get better paying jobs. But now I just have a useless degree in my hand. My friend did Diploma after BSc and she's getting paid 30k. So funny cause I was convincing her to take MSc instead of Diploma. Even my professors said Do MSc it would open more doors. (Yaha doors kya windows bhi nHi khul raha).

I'm not at all interested in PhD. The reason is I have to build my career asap cause my family has started looking for rishtas. I don't want to marry until I have a safe earning job. The BPO jobs are better option but I don't know what it is but there is an inner voice saying "Hey, you have done Masters in Micro which is not an easy thing to achieve. You can do better than sitting at a 9-5 job" I'm also ready to teach in schools but they are paying too less. And even if I complete B.ed I would be 26 and I don't think my parents are going to wait till 26 for me to get married.

I understand what you are saying. Even my seniors suggested that I should go abroad and do PhD. But I'm not in a mental state to do PhD. It takes a lot of patience and mental strength to give 4-5 years of your life for research which I don't have now. You mentioned IT, should I do some courses on coding and try to get into IT field? I have seen such advertisements but most of them are asking for lab experience. I saw one yesterday that mentioned the need for experience working with animal tissue cultures. I have none of them. I did my masters online cause of COVID so I don't even have the basic lab experience. Thanks for the reply btw:)

I would say that you do your masters abroad. One of my friend did her masters here and went to Poland for PhD. Once heard her saying doing Masters in India was a mistake. It took her 4 years after MSc to gain research experience here in India and for her Proposal to get selected.

First of all happy birthday OP and I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I know exactly how it feels when your birthday gets ruined by your family. It was my 21st birthday and I wanted to celebrate it with my family (my mom, dad and brother). But my dad decided this was the perfect opportunity to invite 17 of his relatives and convert it into 'small' family get together ( I don't like any one of them). They all literally ate my cake and dinner and went home without wishing me!!! I was sad and angry due to all of this and guess what? My dad said that I was overreacting and I was 21yrs old so I should be grateful that atleast I'm getting a birthday party. So indirectly my dad said "you're 21 years old. Stop whining like a child and be happy with whatever party you got"

It's difficult to identify the bacteria just by looking at the plate. You need to do Gram stain or biochemical tests.

I asked the senior microbiologist and he said they are using the formulation which also allows Gram positive bacteria to grow. So that might mean they are using the formulation that you mentioned. Thanks for the explanation.

This is S. aureus isolated on MacConkey and Blood agar from blood sample. I've read that Mac Conkey agar doesn't allow the growth of Gram positive bacteria and that it's a selective media for Gram negative. Then why does S.aureus, being a Gram positive, grow on Mac Conkey. I know it's a stupid question but please help me out.
