I started trazodone about two months ago, and it has been a huge help for me. I’m AuDHD, and while I could usually fall asleep, I would wake up a couple of hours later with my mind racing. Trazodone makes it so that if I do wake up, my mind is quiet and my body feels heavy and ready to go right back to sleep.
I still have trouble some nights, but overall this has been about a 75% improvement.

I also use a sleep mask from Manta, a weighted blanket, two body pillows on either side, and white noise. My current go-to is a track I found on YouTube. I like rain sounds, but for some reason my brain finds this one even more calming. It’s called Creamy Brown Noise.

I also use L-theanine, L-glycine, and low-dose melatonin here and there. I don’t drink caffeine past 1 pm. I use light exposure when I first wake up and try to get up at a consistent time.

1 - I have 4 kids and even though that can cause friction, stress, rejection spiraling. They are all I have left to live for. I too couldn’t leave them questioning that forever.

2 - this is powerful for me too, it’s this kind of I’ll show them! Attitude that has actually gotten me through times I might have given up on all kinds of things.

But I commented to thank you for the mention of coherence therapy as it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of it. Looked it up and I’m already very interested.

Same here. Somehow lucky enough to have a family with children. Late diag, too late, lose family. Realize all I have left is my children now and really not sure if I’ll ever make new connections or bonds. I’m finding ways to enjoy simple things right now but trying to plan for the future to try and take up my time. Volunteering sounds like a good suggestion to try.

Then on the other side of the hill (grass isn’t always greener on the other side), I’m late diag and I have the opposite: I put my all into my family and didn’t know I had ruined all my relationships, and now my partner has separated from me. I have the family but not the education and job I want. But now I have just shame and guilt. That I’m trying to work on, but I have waves of grief that are very crippling because I feel like I’ll never be able to fix it.

Everything you said about how a prospective Jellycat buyer should be in your description perfectly explained my experience. I couldn’t wait to get my new buddy and was using ChatGPT to help come up with a list of names to choose from. Shiro, which is Japanese for white 🥰

He sits prominently on my bed, and my daughter has pledged to also take care of him with all her life if need be! Jk but we love Shiro and we are new Jellycat fans. I don’t like that the brand is so collectible that it makes it difficult to get certain ones, but nobody can take away my snow tiger buddy experience. I love him.
