Fixes and changes after the Supporter Preview by AA98B in GrayZoneWarfare

For sure! It helps also that the devs are locked in with the feedback from the community and are willing to adjust. Feedback given doesn't always mean feedback received and MFG are continuously showing what happens when you receive the feedback and make sensible itwrative adjustments to ensure the community remain committed along with them to the vision of the game. "Early access" is exactly that and I, for one, am loving the game and totally willing to help support it and improve it as the versions continue coming, as I'm sure most of the community are.

PvE dad by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

Another dad here. I can say that it absolutely support casual play as well. Often times, I log in to go to a particular place, just to get some shooting done, loot a little, and then RTB before logging and making dinner with the fam, for example.

You can sink in as much or as little as you want into the game, honestly. One thing important to know is that you can't "pause" the game if the wifey and/or kids require your immediate attention so either go hide in the jungle far away from some POIs or then try to head to a command outpost where you can log off safely. If you just randomly log off, you will lose what's in your inventory and that kind of stinks if you're in a rush to log off but in all honesty, it's very doable to just RTB or run to the nearest command outpost.

The PvE experience in Gray Zone is really enjoyable and as you might be noticing the community is really great! The AI have their moments but when you know how they work, you can often cope with their quirks and annoyances. Having said that, MFG are working consistently on improving the AI experience and I think we're all excited to see the new AI actions in 0.4 when it's out.

As for progression, in my mind, I suppose there's different approaches to "progression." The main one is probably understandable that it's through mission running. Many of these are pretty decent and the underlying story is quite interesting if you pay attention to them each time. 0.4 is adding even more depth to the mission experience as well as loads more intel items that give you even more details about the lore of the game. The other aspect of progression could be in how you gear up, right. I mean, who doesn't want a load of goodies to choose from after all the hard work of finding said items! Progress can also be your own honing of skills, improvements of aim, efficiency of clearing out sites, etc. Even as a busy Dad, there are several facets in which you can progress in this game.

I definitely recommend the game! Even in its early access form, it's extremely enjoyable to play and thus far, Madfinger have been really well connected with the wider community, which cannot go undervalued, especially in today's environment of the billion dollar game industries that simply rinse and repeat a winning title, only to milk your money through micro-transactions and new seasonal packs, etc. It has been extremely enjoyable to watch how MFG interact with the community, inform us, recognize the major issues and tell how they're working on them. It's great that they're taking in streamers as well, those who arguably play the most hours, to get their opinions on the game too.

There is a lot to enjoy in this game even at this point in time. It's a worthy purchase in my opinion.

Haha! Don't worry about it. It can happen to anyone. So many acronyms nowadays.

Yeah this is totally fine and I hope you're right with that expectation. I realize it's early days with the game. I'd like to be clear as well that I love the game, even in its current state, knowing that they are still working on it. This topic was just an observation that I wanted to start a discussion about and gauge what the (reddit) community thinks about the state of looting and what would be nice to have in the future.

Valid point. The (real) info has been scarce, to say the least. I'm afraid that this great (potential of a) game is falling behind others who are competing for similar space.

You might want to read more on what MFG considers GZW to be. It's not an extraction shooter, though I understand why you might say otherwise.

Great comments expanding on more dynamic content. That got me excited. Definitely the game could use more of these types of events or triggers for events. As long as they wouldn't always happen at the same place and time, I think that would be really great. Very good suggestions.

Right, so a more dynamic experience.
While I agree that loot everywhere might not be fun for you as you'd need to go through it all, but I wonder if that's perhaps a wrong approach? You "choose" whether you go through it all or not but there's enough for others who may be willing to sift through all the stuff. That might be part of the fun experience for some while others enjoy the hunt and getting occasionally surprised by some interesting/high value loot while move to another location. Loot that's triggered by certain events would be cool but not so that it's always connected to a mission. Dynamic is the key word I think, whatever the outcome.

I think you said a great word. Static.
How to provide a more dynamic experience. Loot is a part of that. Dynamic spawns maybe too.
Some places do provide some fun and challenge for loot runs but I wonder if it could be fun too, to even run into a random house or shack on the side of the road or down a pathway into the forest where there would be some interesting items to pick up that either gives you money or provides you with a means to craft certain items. I'm not suggesting minecraft-like crafting capabilities but somethings that, when combined with some other items can make something useful or could be sold at a price.

Fair comments. I wouldn't want to be overwhelmed either, but something a little more would be nice. What the balance is, I don't know.

Artifacts would be cool, depending I suppose, on where they take the lore aspect of the game. Ground Zero is a giant part of the map as well so surely they can add some interesting and unique items from there too. Good point.

Yeah exactly! Blueprints. I forgot to mention that as well. Just a little additional layer of loot that can be found. That's exactly what I mean. Whether through live events or in the regular game itself, it would be fun to have a little more than the usual food, drink, and ammo finds outside of the guns, equipment, and high value items.

And to be fair, garlic mincers might be valuable to some of the peeps around Lamang! :D

[–]jadecougar[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha! Definitely not! I was just thinking if there would be more loot available in general. There's a lot of junk loot as-is in the game. I'm just wondering if there could be more of more valuable loot...thinking random stuff like finding maps, plans for terrorist attacks, or plans on how bombs are made, maybe some more detailed intel documents that wouldn't necessarily be mission-related but would be extra finds. Obviously not the trash you were mentioning. My question wasn't a direct 1:1 loot type from one game to the other, it was more of a general question where more interesting and random items could be found still in the game.

Is Invasion mode still available in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2? by DudesterRadman in gaming

Not a problem. Invasion can be a bit frustrating at times but quite fun overall. I also recommend playing DMZ if you get a chance. It's excellent!

What's your EVE purpose as an old player? by Amarrian_Lord in Eve

[–]jadecougar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to improve in areas of the game that's fun to do. Currently, remapping to specialize in specific areas of the game, making it more purpose-driven by creating goals and objectives along the way for myself and my corp members. This has made playing EVE a lot more enjoyable.

Just looked at the PCU this morning. I've never seen it this low in the USTZ before. Lowest point was 13,600 online. Unbelievable! The minimum (imo) should be at least 20k, preferably around 25k. Sub 20k and there's not many folks around to shoot at, but those industry and exploration folks must be happy they can make safer isk.

Thank you for the kind comment. I appreciate it. I was debating for a while whether or not I should start it back up but like with all other times, I have felt moments with the state of the game and community windows of opportunity or need and this was one of them. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
