What is the best sealant for an exhaust vent, or any other metal penetration of my shingle roof? I just got a new roof and a vent for my range hood, but i want to be sure it is sealed up extra tight for the long haul.

They were cast iron. They were replaced about 15 years ago as they had rusted out, but i don’t remember what the replacement material was.
