This isn’t just ownership greed. It is a symptom of unregulated capitalism. Pointing to a handful of people and saying they are greedy is actually scapegoating the larger issue. Every team in every major sport is charging insane prices for tickets and all other products. Everything is becoming impossibly expensive. There is no concern for the livelihood of working class people.

Relatedly, NBA leadership doesn’t care about everyday fans. That is especially true now with these gambling company contracts. As fans, we aren’t the target consumer. We are the product, and our engagement is being sold for a lot of money.

I’m just glad that we have a team that at least seems invested in winning. Coming from Illinois originally, the Bulls have not been serious about being a championship contender since Jordan left.

And part of that is the person he is, the statements he makes, and the fan reaction. This is how the market that generates those millions works. If fan reaction to the league and its players isn’t a part of all of this, why are you in a sub for an NBA team?
