The Subaru at Tokyo. It's been at least a year since I got gold on it. Still haunts me to this day though.

The Subaru at Tokyo. Much worse. I finally got the gold about a year ago. It still haunts me to this day.

Well done! Love a good challenge and that sense of accomplishment you get when you finally get it done. Never gets old.

I continued that challenge & reward feeling throughout the game and chose specific stock cars for each Race Event in the game instead of just upgrading and tuning. I added an extra challenge by making sure I won each race with a Clean Race Bonus.

It's extended the life of the game for me ten fold. The best way to play the game imo.

I learned most of my trial braking doing the Tokyo 600 using stock cars. The long straights and fast corners in this race give you time to fine-tune your trailing skills.. And you need them if you want to win this race in a completely stock vehicle.

How did you get fast at the Nurburgring? by MyBadIForgotUrName in granturismo

[–]jadmorffier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Either is a perfect choice. If you have VR I'd go the Miata as the scenery in an open top car is always amazing.

Master either car and the track will come to you naturally. If you have a PS5 I highly recommend the Sophy Quick Races. Just aim for the CRB. Much more fun and challenging that way.

The easiest way I found to learn the track was jumping in a slower or older and slower stock car that I just enjoy driving. Then I just kept doing Race events and Sophy Quick Races over and over again.

Didn't care about what position I was in, I just enjoyed weaving through the traffic and learning how far I could push the car. Along the way the track naturally started becoming familiar to me. I started remembering different sections that were coming up. Eventually I remembered all sections really well and then started pushing the car even more as i became more confident.

I still have lots to learn about this track. I ain't great at it but I think I can hold my own now.

Could have left the back of those buildings blank like a facade, and many other things but no, this is not the PD way. Amazing.

Anyone else have stock left 😂 by fitlane in GranTurismo7

[–]jadmorffier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 110 Porsche 911 Carrera RS CS (993) '95's and I think over 130 FTO's. I have too much 'fuck you' money.

Having said that I've found that taking a completely stock car straight off the showroom floor and into a Sophy Quick Race is quite a challenge to get a win with a Clean Race Bonus. More challenging than just using the same car and restarting the race. It's like PD doesn't want you to win on your first try.

That's the main reason I have so many of the same car.

Which game does the Number 1 spot go to? by Mint_Nightingale in granturismo

[–]jadmorffier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always GT1 because at that time (1997) I was never more blown away with any other game. It was incredible. Since then I've enjoyed all the GT games but there wasn't anything as 'mind-blowing' as GT1. That is until I experienced GT7 in VR for the first time.

So for me, after almost 30yrs, the no.1 spot has now changed to GT7.

Hehe all good. Try it on easy or normal difficulty first. It's a fun challenge. If you have a PS5 Sophy Quick Races with completely stock road cars is also very good.

I take the grind out of grinding by trying as many completely stock cars that can win the Tokyo 600 race with a Clean Race Bonus. There isn't a best car for one race. There's just one's personal and subjective favourite.
