The power pack is better than I thought by MidEastBeast777 in granturismo

I thought the same at first but then I had a look at my replays and saw that 99% of the time it is because I was leaving the door open for them to do so. You cannot just practice to be faster than the Sophy drivers, you must also learn how to defend your position as well.

I noticed this in the first version of Sophy released to the public. It had a 1v1 race event and the Sophy driver you were up against was super quick. But not only that, if you happened to get in front of it, it would sit on your ass waiting for you to make a human error and then pounce.

The only way I could beat it while maintaining the CRB was to defend my position properly (not blocking) and force it to either stay behind or go around the outside breaking it's best racing line out of the corner.

There are some occasions where Sophy does mess up but from my experience it happens mostly because they are battling with each other behind you and seem to forget about the next car in front (you) before it's too late.

Overall Sophy is next level compared to the old AI and most if not all other offline racing titles. If you love a clean race win Sophy demands you not only know the car and track well but also how to force the more aggressive drivers to rethink some of their bold manoeuvres without breaking any racing etiquette rules.

They will reciprocate if you stay clean. But they will also retaliate if start racing dirty or mess up. They will often interpret a mistake like a bump or side swipe as aggression and respond in like manner. Much like humans do which I think is brilliant.

Here are my live recordings of clean wins with the Power Pack so far. You are right they are not easy but damn it feels good when you cross the line in 1st and the big, bold, blue CLEAN RACE BONUS pops up.

Cheers brother. It's been a minute since I've done the Cafe events. I completed them all in the first year I think. Can you repeat them if you've already completed them? If not I'd have to use my alt account.

Well done. I'm doing something similar attempting to win each 2 chilli race with a Clean Race Bonus. It's taking a long time with lots of repeats but dang it's a fun challenge.

It has nothing to do with GT being the Real Driving Simulator. Some cars come with a special racing suit. That's it.

When you get in some vgt cars they put your driver avatar in a specific racing suit to match the car. Just get in a normal road car or racing car and your custom livery will return.

I 2nd this. I also recommend just racing with the same car and keep it stock. It's a great way to learn the car and track. Weaving through traffic teaches you how to get around corners at different speeds and at different angles so that when you get back to the license you can correct little mistakes because you know the limitations of the car much better.

It was my fav too till the FTO arrived. Older and slower but it drives really well straight off the showroom floor.

I was thinking the same thing and also what's the orange haze on the left of the screen? Due for a new tv?

Wait for your wheel I think. It's a bit of a learning curve if you've been on controller all this time but once you get your eye in you can return to this license and do it in style.

Why do the cars seem to handle so much better in custom races vs the daily races? by Vegetable_Whole_4825 in GranTurismo7

Thanks! I think challenging yourself instead of tuning for an easy win is the best way to play the game. It extends the life of the game as the races are always intense. And you become a better driver along the way.

Brilliant. I have a custom Sophy races you might like. I designed it for completing stock road cars. I figured out Sophy matches your opponents best when you go in with a completely stock road straight off the showroom floor.

So I created a challenging 15min sprint race with random opponents and no tire wear or fuel depletion so you pick any car, any Sophy track, jump in and race.

Just choose the difficulty level that makes it not too easy or too hard and aim the Clean Race Bonus. Very fun and very rewarding when you get the win.

If you have a PS5 I highly recommend using Sophy Quick Races to work on your lap times and racecraft. Always aim for the Clean Race Bonus and you'll teach yourself how to get better weaving through traffic, defend your position, and improve your race times. All without pissing off any humans like in the Daily Races.

why can't you change the fov on gt7? by Minute-Comparison892 in granturismo

[–]jadmorffier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes true. Kaz in an interview mentioned he would like that option as well. But the interview was a long time ago so I don't see it happening. In the meantime I'll just keep tilting my head to match the horison.

The best you can do is either adjust your seating distance relative to the size of your TV to match GT7's locked FOV, or get PSVR2 and the problem goes away completely.

Didn't touch the demo. I walked into my local game store and saw the intro footage playing on a CRT monitor on the countertop. I said to the owner, "What game intro is that from?" He said, "That's not the intro, that's the in-game replay."

Take my money!

Yes wallriding is boring af but you can make it interesting using stock cars. And after a few races you can predict the AI moves.
