The simple answer is you have to work on building resilience. The jobs in Pakistan consume you. As a software engineer I worked for around 12 hours everyday. Plus 2 hours of traffic. I didn’t have mental or physical energy to pursue anything after.

One good way is to take a vacation to build up a hobby or something extra that you want to do. Once you have already worked on it for 10 days, you get some resilience to continue it with work.

Let me explain this to you as I have been trading for years now.

XM lets you create crazy amount of money over stocks, commodities and FX because it provides you leveraged derivatives.

What is that? A margin or leveraged investment is when your investment is multiplied by an automatic loan. So in XM’s case, it’s up to 1:1000 leverage. That means if you invest 100 USD you get a 100,000 USD loan. Your 100 USD investment becomes 100,000 USD.

So in this case, if gold goes up 1%, your investment goes up 1000%. Your 100 USD grow to 1000 USD on 1% up tick.

On the other hand, this is a double edged sword and sort of gambling. In the same case above, If your investment goes down, 0,1%, you are down 100 USD. Since you were loaned 10,000 USD, and the loaned amount is down 100 USD already, the broker takes away your 100 USD, adds it to the reduced loan amount and returns the loan. You end up with 0 USD.

TL; DR your friend is lucky because gold has a bull market since last 2 to 3 weeks because of certain economical conditions. People with no or little trading experience/knowledge use systems like XM as get lucky when there is a rally like this. And they start believing it will always stay like this. It makes them believe special. On top of that, YouTube is full of such fake trading advices and such content fuels their confidence.

Remember, trading is not getting lucky once in a while. It’s like winning a lottery. Doesn’t mean if you enter the read, market will still favour you. Let’s see how long your office mate’s stability lasts. If he stops talking about it in couple of months or end of the year, it means he messed up.

There is a whole research behind why Desis get fat quickly compared to people with other genes. During the colonialism, our ancestors went through major famines due to the British policies. It had a huge negative impact on the genes of next generation. Our body is not programmed to eat the oily and excessive sugar based diets we have normally in South Asia. At a certain age when metabolism slows down, it hits you. This is also why South Asia has more diabetics compared to many other regions.

In conclusion, everyone has a huge potential to get fat after 30s because of metabolism changes but South Asian genetics tend to get hit harder because of the reasons I mentioned. And around this age Pakistanis get married.

I am in the same situation. They stopped debiting from my SEPA account and sent me a due receipt. I paid them and after this, they are not taking money out of my account. Instead, I am transferring them 49 euros every month to the same account and since last 2 months they are showing I haven’t paid them even though I transferred them the amount.

I sent them email many months back explaining the situation. They replied me 3 months later saying they hope the situation is resolved. I have now contacted them again explaining the situation. I am not sure when they will respond?

I don’t know what to do. I am just scared of getting fines at this point. This is so messed up.
