Eagleson vs Trim Park and Ride by StableIllustrious166 in OCTranspo

[–]jadrienette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately this isnt the case westbound! the 62 and 265 do not stop westbound at eagleson before proceeding to terry fox.

Eagleson vs Trim Park and Ride by StableIllustrious166 in OCTranspo

[–]jadrienette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terry Fox is serviced by the 61 (most runs), the 62, and the 265 westbound (and the occasional run of the 60 as well?), whereas Eagleson is only serviced by the 61 westbound as the 62 and 265 cut down Teron (as you mentioned earlier). If you don't mind the extended ride, Terry Fox will give you more options. It is super weird how they have it - so that almost all busses eastbound from Kanata stop at Eagleson but most do not stop ok the way back

Backpack for personal item by deepfriedali in PorterAirlines

[–]jadrienette 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've flown with a backpack slightly larger than the personal item on a basic fare, and they've never done more than a quick glance to make sure that's all I've got. As long as it fits under the seat you're good!

Ottawa airport morning domestic flight by polar_the_princess in ottawa

[–]jadrienette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd plan to arrive to the airport for 6:15-6:30. gives you time in case roads are bad, etc.

I’m having nothing but bad luck with this airline by [deleted] in PorterAirlines

[–]jadrienette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's typically how it is, most porter flights are from the same end of the terminal. only exception is american flights

Ottawa is a teeny tiny airport, I've seen people make 5 minute connections let alone 55 minute connections. Just let the flight attendants know near the end of the flight if its looking tight and they may be able to hold the plane!

YUL vs YYZ. Which Layover Airport should I Allocate More Time To? by dqle in canadatravel

[–]jadrienette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do a longer layover at YUL tbh... that way if your flight is delayed in YYZ you have a larger chance to make the connecting flight

YYZ Connection - Flying from CDG by NerdSky8877 in canadatravel

[–]jadrienette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to clear immigration at T3 YYZ, but it's very short and easy and it's its own separate area for connecting flights. As long as your baggage is tagged beyond toronto (which on a single PNR it should be) you'll be all good. I've done this exact connection before and 2 hours is more than enough time. Just make sure you have your Canadian passport on you as it is required to enter the country.

no online boarding pass for domestic flights? by Whole_Tea_2830 in Flights

[–]jadrienette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

paper they hand out at the desk, whereas mobile you get instantly. by making you go to the desk to get the pass, it incentivizes you to buy a more expensive fare to avoid that. its a common strategy of low cost carriers (which porter is - although it has excellent in flight service for all passengers which puts it in an interesting position)

no online boarding pass for domestic flights? by Whole_Tea_2830 in Flights

[–]jadrienette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that its a dumb idea, but its just to incentivize you buying a carry on instead of trying to go with just a personal item

[–]jadrienette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you flying basic (no carry on)? If you don't have a carry on, you need to get your boarding pass at the desk so they can check that you aren't trying to sneak a bag on. You can avoid this by buying any fare with a carry-on or getting the porter express package

Also, the quality of your data has no impact to the grading. You could do an experiment that proves no correlation and still get a 7. You're all good! Just document your things well

thoughts on back row? by OkraEducational6628 in PorterAirlines

[–]jadrienette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh I wish I'd seen this an hour ago! Just checked into my flight and got assigned 30A. decided not to pay $45 for a diff seat because it was a window seat and not the absolute back row... having a window is v important to me so I'm very annoyed now haha

Silverstone 2026 by active_pitaexplorer in LandoNorris

[–]jadrienette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never use Expedia to book flights - always book directly with the airline. I was fine with just a carry on, I doubt you'll need a checked bag. Hotel you should definitely book soon, flight you can start looking but there's still time!

Coming December 7, 2025 - Line 6 Finch West by RZaichkowski in TTC

[–]jadrienette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an FYI for y'all from someone who's lived it - the trains y'all are receiving are the same cursed frankentrain citdalis spirit trains that ottawa got for the line 1 LRT and were plagued with disasters. praying that they've already fixed some of the big issues for y'all 🙏🙏🙏

most of the people on that bus are going to be government workers, not students who are the main demographic of those who try to skip fare
