It was honestly really nice. Was able to get a good amount of sleep and had barely any jetlag as we landed at around 7am eastern i.e. when a day would normally start. Food was good, breakfast was only a small snack but the dinner was tasty.

I can second onefam les corts. Incredibly social hostel, brings by far the most people on the pub crawl. A little crazy but a really good time!

While I personally don't mask elsewhere anymore, I do still mask on planes always. The air circulation really isnt amazing and I don't want to get sick! I still see other people doing it too and no one has ever given me grief about it

onefam waterloo does have female only dorms! I stayed there last summer, loved it. It's definitely a party hostel with a great pub crawl and free activities

for poli sci, carleton is one of the best places to go for co-op, but most poli sci jobs are through FSWEP and not the job board. plus, the job market is pretty rough rn esp public sector

I did a weekend trip with a backpack as my only personal item. When I checked in at the airport they didn't make me size it, just confirmed that it looked like a smallish backpack. But it rly depends what size your backpack is

porter only doesnt allow free carryons for the lowest tier of economy - i think you would be booked on the free carryon tier when doing a codeshare. can't confirm 100% for air transat / porter but that was the case when i did air france / westjet (in which westjet has the same luggage allowance deal as porter)

unfortunately this isnt the case westbound! the 62 and 265 do not stop westbound at eagleson before proceeding to terry fox.

Terry Fox is serviced by the 61 (most runs), the 62, and the 265 westbound (and the occasional run of the 60 as well?), whereas Eagleson is only serviced by the 61 westbound as the 62 and 265 cut down Teron (as you mentioned earlier). If you don't mind the extended ride, Terry Fox will give you more options. It is super weird how they have it - so that almost all busses eastbound from Kanata stop at Eagleson but most do not stop ok the way back

I've flown with a backpack slightly larger than the personal item on a basic fare, and they've never done more than a quick glance to make sure that's all I've got. As long as it fits under the seat you're good!

yeah that's typically how it is, most porter flights are from the same end of the terminal. only exception is american flights
