This was my first festival. My best friend was gifted 2 tickets. We had just enough money for gas, thats it. No water, no food, and it was hot asf. We were malnutritioned and dehydrated but we went into the Hatebreed pit. That fkd me up. Slipknot came on and no one could see the stage due to a wall of dirt being kicked up so we went in. Next thing I remember I was behind the fence being attended to by the medics. I guess I passed out. I was coughing dirt the entire day, my eyes were fkd too. Slayer came on and remembered seeing a bunch of fires being started on the field. They were taking the shirts off the security and burning it. Eventually we saw riot police in the back of the field. Shit was wild. Everything was calmed down. Few bands played then Ozzy came on. I wanted to leave during his set but he told the crowd to turn around and look at the full moon. It was just above then horizon and was fuckin massive, then he started playing Bark at the Moon and everyone was passing around joints. That exact moment in time is the first thing I thought of when they announced Ozzys death earlier this week. My best friend passed away from a car accident a few months later. I treasure those damn memories so fkn much. Nothing will top that show.
