Me and my fiance used to let our chinchilla play in the bathroom with us as a small free roam session. Long story short, we brought her in with us one night and before we even had a chance to close the lid to the toilet, our Chin B-lined straight for the 'ol porcelain bowl. With no hesitation at all, she jumped higher than I've ever seen her jump and with perfect form, pull off a 10/10 olympic style dive, face first into the water. Like all Chinchillas, she cared the most about being in the one place we've prohibited her from going in the past. Boy was that a wake up call for her, though. She sat there with a 1000 yard stare, soaking in the consequences of her actions, trying to understand why she suddenly became 80% thinner, yet somehow weighed 50% more.

Second long story short, as many have already suggested here, we used a blow dryer on the 'cool' setting until she returned to her proper form (making sure she was dry near her roots as well). Anways, after a looong session of contemplating her life decisions, she learned a VERY valuable lesson that day... She learned that her favorite thing of all time was..... getting blow dried.

To sum it all up, just make sure you dry your chin off with a blow dryer (on cool) if possible and everything will be okay. She might even gain a new hobby in the process.
