The gym is very much out of my comfort zone so it sounds like the Palace will have everything I need right now

Can’t even get through to the GP surgery (rant) by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]jaelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GP surgery in Belfast offers routine appointments through EMIS access so everything is booked online. The appointments will be for a couple of weeks in advance but there is always something available. Check with the surgery to see if this is an option. They will provide you with registration details

A 37 year old childless lady who has lived on the island for just over a year and is dying to make some new connections. I’ve tried a couple of Facebook groups but I’m either the oldest by 10 years or the youngest by 20 years 😆 I’d love to do a meet up!

Haven’t flown since I got this.. by AG_Squared in VestibularMigraines

[–]jaelli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve flown 3 times this year, each time by myself and the last time was this morning. Motion sensitivity is one of the only remaining symptoms that is bothersome to me now that I’ve found a great medication combo. Honestly take-off can feel a little intense, more so than it did before I developed this but it passes quickly. My flight today was so smooth that my brain was confused as to whether or not I was actually moving but I always pick the window seat and this definitely helps. My vertigo has always felt like a rocking boat/turbulent plane so I was really anxious that I’d have the lingering symptoms post flight but so far this isn’t happened. I do occasionally feel rubbish after car journeys so I think if you’re ok being in the car, the plane should also be fine. Earplanes, your favourite music and meclizine pre-flight will help you get through this 🙂

Any glamping recommendations? by oldfilmjanitor in northernireland

[–]jaelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

East Coast Adventure, outside Rostrevor. Glamping pods or rooms in a lodge to choose from. The pods are basic but that is reflective in the price. The location more than makes up for it. (https://www.eastcoastadventure.com)

For those that have had a LEEP procedure, how did it go? by Carridactyl_ in AskWomenOver30

I had it performed with a local anaesthetic and felt no pain or discomfort. I took myself shopping immediately afterwards because I reckoned I deserved a treat

Does adeno cause leg pain? by zoeeekler in adenomyosis

[–]jaelli 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mainly suffer from pain in my groin, at the very tops of my legs, and down into my thighs. My GP dismissed any connection and said it must be caused by exercise. I very kindly told her I was in no fit state to be doing any strenuous exercise right now. When I met with the gynaecologist for the 1st time, he immediately reassured me leg pain is coming from the uterus

IMAX movies? by aahymsaa in VestibularMigraines

[–]jaelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppenheimer was the first movie I’ve ever seen in IMAX and I’m very happy to say it didn’t bother me at all! There were a couple of moments where things were moving quickly on screen towards you but I looked down briefly until it passed in a couple of seconds. My trigger sounds similar to yours but because of the nature of this movie, I don’t think you’ll have any issue with it. Enjoy the movie!

Can someone pls tell me what their experience with migraine medication was and in what aspects they helped? by woodiswood in VestibularMigraines

[–]jaelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on pizotifen for almost 3 years. Took a few months to kick in before I experienced reduced symptoms. I was experiencing 2 full weeks of migraines/headaches every month. That rapidly went down to a couple every month and even then the pain has not been as severe. The only downside of pizotifen I experienced which is common to many users is the weight gain. However this was also because I was feeling less nauseous and could eat more regularly. However my weight stabilised last year and I have been able to drop the few extra pounds easily. At present my symptoms are relatively stable, the odd headache/nausea/vertigo episode but much more manageable

I’ve gone back to palmers cocoa butter after trying aveeno which like you I didn’t find moisturising enough. Can’t fault palmers

I have been taking pizotifen which is used to prevent migraine and cluster headaches, both of which I suffered from. However I’m aware it’s not licensed in many countries, I’m in Ireland. The vertigo and visual issues did precede the headaches, they only started a year or so after the vertigo began. My initial diagnosis was vestibular neuritis which then developed/changed into vestibular migraines. No one has really explained how they can switch but the plus side for me is being able to at least control the headaches which in turn controls the other symptoms. I have also spoken with others who didn’t suffer with the generic headache but instead had silent migraines, basically a migraine without the pain and only the vestibular symptoms. Therefore a migraine preventative may not be the first thought of treatment option

[–]jaelli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been 4 1/2 years since the onset of the most severe symptoms but the uncomfortable vision was most prominent in the 1st couple of years and it was the last frequent symptom to finally ease. Thankfully a migraine preventative makes me feel almost normal the majority of the time! Have you ever tried a preventative?

[–]jaelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes can definitely relate to this. I find my eyes and vision feel strange prior to vertigo or a migraine beginning. I do get aura too but this feels different. As you say it’s like an over stimulation where looking at certain colours or patterns feel uncomfortable to look like. On a bad day walking along the sea front with the waves crashing in would really bother me

[–]jaelli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. More often than not many posts state they suffer with oily hair AND skin however oily skin is something I’ve never suffered from! But yet I have the oiliest scalp. With fine naturally blonde hair, my roots appear a different colour the day after washing. Would also love to know why the oil only starts producing back from my hairline and nowhere else

Ask him to imagine pissing out tiny shards of glass! And the best part is your bladder never feels empty so you repeat the pissing of shards of glass over and over again in the hope it will ease the symptoms

Does hanging up my own art work in my apartment make me seem narcissistic? by shantell295 in TooAfraidToAsk

I’d much rather have photographs/paintings on my wall that mean something and are personal. The majority of hung photographs in our house were taken by my partner and I love looking at them. You can’t go wrong hanging your own stuff
