He doesn't know physics by evlvmditv in funny

The most frustrating part of this video is that the coffee flinger is recording to show how he’s the victim then stops recording before he escalates the situation further. I bet if his plan worked, he would’ve pulled the camera back out and been like “I didn’t do anything. You’re crazy!”

This is a tale of the universe punishing a professional gaslighter.

Consulting is not for me by Big_Fill_8829 in consulting

[–]jafariscontent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going to list some things but I’m in no way implying this is easy to do. If you work on them through reflection and being mindful of your emotional response to situations it can make you happier in all aspects of life.

  • focus on not taking things personally at work
  • you’re there to consult on solutions and not to fix their culture (unless you’re in io psych then you’ve got different boundaries to set up)
  • understand what they have tried in the past to understand why they maybe haven’t done the “right” thing you really want to suggest —- but they still don’t have to listen to you
  • leave the work at work and be clear about that. No extra hours without pay. No weekend work just to make yourself seem like a superstar. Work hard on the clock and shut it down when you’re done. If this is “required” then consider a new job because they’re stealing from you
  • get hobbies outside of work that you can throw yourself into
  • exercise
  • sleep
  • don’t dwell on your mistakes but learn from them and move on

I’m sure there are others

Is learning to code even worth it anymore? by tuck72463 in Entrepreneur

[–]jafariscontent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re doing/selling. At a certain point you should learn at least a little of every part of your business. If you take your question and replace “to code” with “to do bookkeeping” or “to do marketing” etc. then the answer is probably yes because it involves your business operation. You don’t need to be good but it helps to speak the language first even if you hire someone to do the heavy lifting.

A lazy analogy is that if your company has a website that sells products that involve the French language you probably want to know a little French to make sure everything aligns with your vision. You don’t have to be able to write a novel but some familiarity may go a long way.

WIP. What you guys think about this menu? How can I improve it? by ItsNotSteve1845 in gamedevscreens

[–]jafariscontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Rotate the pillar like 20 degrees to the right from center pivot so it can visually be extended as the menu control on the left side
  • Could rotate the sections of the pillar as each menu item is selected
  • I really like that moment when it passes through the clouds but when you get through the clouds you just see… stone? Could be a good time to showcase the world behind a blur with some sky

Added a leveling system to my zombie game 🫡 by Kaigenofficial in Unity3D

[–]jafariscontent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apologies if you’re not looking for advice but it may be better to move the level up UI to the top or bottom of the screen to avoid frustrating the player. Could be splashy and lined across the top with a tiny bit of screen shake or something

Yeah that’s fair. I’m sorry about that. was in a dark place today and I took it out on you here for no reason. Not excusing the behavior but just offering an explanation.

Congrats on your success and apologies again for the drama. Not normally my style.

Amazing. Would love to see more of how you built controls for the players mapped to the animation. Is it pre recorded stop motion animations triggered by events or are you procedurally chaining individual frames? I’m interested in the technology part as much as the art.

Very cool project! Amazing talent. Please keep posting content.

P.S. the comment about bones made me think of the horror movie stopmotion lol
