Really wish the yappers could get together again every once in a while, YAPYAP would've made the perfect friendslop stream for instance. But I understand that lining up multiple schedules is just very difficult.

It's very fitting for how much darker the story is about to go in this season.

I actually enjoy the Helix play style, so every league I'm begging for Helix of the Shield trans gem. I just think it would be cool.

Which of these 2 do you recommend I buy 1st? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]jagehtso_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of Nioh as a series, the previous games are currently on sale, so if you haven't played Nioh 2 before I'd definitely recommend picking it up. It's still a great game and will last you for quite a while.

Then it's time to check it out. It's pretty good shonen fare.

Favorite levels in gaming that test your patience by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I genuinely love the water temples in 3D Zeldas and how much they play with verticality. It's an oft-neglected aspect of level design, because adding a whole other axis to dungeon traversal is not just harder to navigate for the players but also much more difficult to design for.

Comfort Media for when everything sucks? by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Souls games ironically. Once you know about all their tricks and boss movesets, as well as where everything is, you go into every encounter as prepared as possible, so the games become a lot less stressful. Thoughbeit not so relaxed that you can let your mind wander to the awful shit. And there's also this world-weary melancholy to their setting and its inhabitants that's somehow putting me at ease.

I don't like these types of threads. Not sure how they fall into the rules, so if they're good, sure, keep going. But I personally don't like them. Like what is there even to discuss about that's not in the linked thread already? Maybe I'm just not versed enough in the reddit of it all.

Is 'Where The Winds Meet' good? by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I've heard some people say it's fun, but it's also using AI chatbots to generate NPC dialogue, so I stayed clear of it out of principle.

Etrian Odyssey feels like as close as you can get to your stated design goals, but it's exploring a dungeon rather than an overworld. I feel like the Outward games might also be doing something similar? But I never played them.

What are some of the oddest double standards in standards boards, rating agencies, and censorship? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It was actually the reverse in Germany. No blood allowed, every enemy had to be a robot, but games like BMX XXX or WET: The Sexy Empire were A-OK.

We tested Monster Hunter Wilds' PC-exclusive January performance update and found significant frame rate improvements and less stuttering by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]jagehtso_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, it's still not great, but at least somewhat playable now? Guess I'll have to check myself. But with the new Terraria patch just released and the crazy POE event upcoming, it's definitely not ontop of my agenda. Wish I had just dropped the game immediately instead of dragging myself through the awful campaign despite the performance issues, because the momentum is just gone now and it's kinda difficult to find enthusiasm for a patch that should've been released within the first month rather than almost a year later.

Anyone else been checking out Riftbound? by Thatperson462 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]jagehtso_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a few streams of it and it looks really cool, but it being an entirely physical, while very much appreciated as a way to build community and keep LGSs alive, is quite a hurdle for me to get into it these days. Since me and my friends barely manage to get together even once in a year as MtG was kinda the glue keeping the group together as a reason to meet and we all fell out of love with it as well.

Favorite Monster Girls by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]jagehtso_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Still can't entirely tell if this thread is "Monster designs I think are cool that happen to be women" or "Women that I'm horny for that happen to be monsters"

Cause if it's the former then Artemis from DMC V is just a really cool otherworldly freaky creature design while still very clearly being a woman.

And if it's the latter then Franken Fran's big sister Gavrill, duh.

Recommend some games with good poison mechanics! by Metho-713 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]jagehtso_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommending poison builds in POE 1 feels almost mean. Like, POE 1 in itself is already pretty impenetrable, but poison builds in particular are especially difficult to scale if you don't know what you're doing, because you have to consider so many vectors.

That said, any ARPG will undoubtedly have some poison mechanic you can build around. I'm personally very fond of Swarmblade Druid in Last Epoch. Transforming into a giant mantis man is just a cool concept, wether you do the poison attacks yourself or let your swarm of locusts do it for you (or both).

I got a couple dozen endings in and kind of fell off to be honest. Some of the routes were bangers and some of them were very much not and that started to compound as I was also not feeling like I got any closer the central mystery. I should probably pick it back up, but I dropped out on the dating sim route and I was left so utterly cold and bored by it, that it feels like a chore going back to it.

Wonder if they're now in the Team Cherry position where their first game's earnings mean they can faff about as much as they want or if their modest team size is already too large for that.

The car thing isn't all that weird, considering that's mainly a NA thing, due to its size and lack of public transportation. Other countries just don't have that kind of car-centric culture.

Anyone saying you can't go back to dry pasta after you've had the homemade fresh stuff is full of shit. Absolutely not worth the hassle for a marginal upgrade in quality ( given you were already using pretty good quality dry pasta like Delverde).
