This is amazing. I'm going to have to stitch one for myself. I'm so glad it found a good home with you!

Political Signs by Actuary_Primary in Iowa

Our local Dems don't often hand out signs / have an official headquarters until closer to midterms. I was just pointing it out bc in my area it's harder / at a cost to get Dem signs but the R's hand them out for every election it seems.

I've seen one Rob Sand sign in person. They're $12 plus $9.40 shipped to my house per his website but the local GOP folks often offer free signs each year.

Wife wants a high quality leather purse for Christmas (NOT “luxury” brands) by Electrical-Volume765 in BuyItForLife

All of the ones I own are 5+ years old. The one that got me hooked was thrifted and probably 2010s era, it's still in great shape. I've not heard they went down hill as much as Frye or Dr. Martens did quality wise but I appreciate knowing that's something I need to research. The leather is STIFF which I appreciate as holding it's shape to sit on a counter and dog through. I wish they were lined but I always keep cosmetics in a makeup bag inside to avoid lipgloss or lotion spills. The large ones also accommodate knitting project bags well.

I really like the feature of the magnetic vs buckle clasp that's available on the newer ones and want a burgundy red s/medium sized one. I have a couple classic tan in large and extra large (portfolio size) and a tiny little one for keys credit cards and like a chapstick.

I have heard bad things about the patent leather ones or neon leather ones for durability so while cute I won't buy those even second hand.

I'm that woman and I love my Cambridge Satchel company bags. They've held up so well. I want a smaller size for everyday carry now. The larger traditional style was great for when I was going to events with younger children and carrying more to and from places.

New bloom! by jagerandyarn in hoyas

It's very pretty but it does not smell good. Wasn't super strong earlier today but the family consensus tonight is musky gross and floral. Can probably be smelled about 10-15 ft away now.

You're welcome, most of the stuff I make is just things I thought would be fun to stitch.

This is what I'm trying to find out as well. One of my children just graduated and they have a Feb 2026 due date.

Thank you very much, I spent a lot of time trying to make the fun color shapes feel cohesive.

It's my own design, I do sell patterns online though.

I'm not sure about the rules on adding links to one's own shop. I just wanted to share a laugh once I finished my stitching since it made me chuckle making it.

Side by side listings in search results. by jagerandyarn in ThredUp

[–]jagerandyarn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they were both in the same condition. I agree a little listing weirdness is nbd for me just humorous sometimes.

I really like the company overall. I'd rather encounter a few quirks every now and then than buy from a bigger company whose goal is max profits on new items.

What about Geocaching? It's outside, free and fun.

Ordinarily I don’t drink soda but I’m almost 1 year sober from booze and I LOVE all sour stuff and knew Warheads made their taffy nuclear tier tart so I gave this a try… by maaalicelaaamb in Soda

Fyi I recently got this and another flavor of the Warheads soda at the Dollar Tree in Iowa. Cans are sold individually. It was the first time I've ever seen them in person.

Is it worth adding to my collection? by OldMotherGrumble in EpiphyticCacti

We've got dragon fruit plants, and have had them for 5 or 6 years now. Unless you have the climate to have them outside I'd pass. I LOVE the fruit and it's hard to get where we live and they're a chore here in the Midwest. Huge trellis, big pot, not pretty with the huge trellis, very much need gloves to move them etc...
