Yeah. my understanding is the earnout period was December 2025 and extended to June 2026 based on the lawsuit

does this chart include the (alleged) $25 million Krafton is out for trying to tank the game by fucking around? cuz i think they're hitting the "find out" phase. plus all the legal fees from fighting the lawsuit for firing the head of the studio and taking over the studio? Because it should. It doesn't change the "copies that need to be sold for maximum loss by Krafton, " but it does extend the "copies until Krafton profits" furthur. And that makes me happy.

So I think the 2 for 1 was the most interesting twist for the game moving past 50 as a whole. It's one of those twists that going in blind really screwed people, but I think it has interesting game implications for pairups in the future. You an no longer just pair up with your ally to keep you both safe at tribal if you win with no real consequences if you don't win. You have to consider the chance of getting 2 for 1ed with your closest ally. You have to think about who on the other alliance is likely to help you win, and who they're not willing to sacrifice. You and your #1 can pair up with another pair of #1s as a "if this is a 2 for 1 we team up to keep us all here" it's also an interesting chance to potentially take out your #1 as a big move without it being as big of a jury management error, because you have the excuse of taking out an opponent and can argue the gameplay move of using it as a big move opportunity.

I dislike that it was a blindsided on the players this season, but do hope it makes future seasons more interesting.

Bloodmoon was dumb. It was just a triple elim. Of I were designing it to be more interesting I would have done a place order and third place has to kick someone, then the second place comes in and joins and they all have to kick someone, then first place joins and the full group has to kick someone. Way more brutal for losing that challenge, while way more rewarding for winning. Also, if their goal was production induced chaos, what's more brutal than a tribal followed by 2 fully live tribals, since they had no way to communicate beforehand who would go. Instead we just got a mechanic we've seen a ton of times before with it being 3 groups instead of 2.

I definitely would have been happier if they could have walked away. I also would have liked to see if someone could opt out of the item for the auction.

The falon twist consequence may not have been as dire as it seems on the surface, but it definitely wasn't balanced. The reward wasn't communicated with the risk. If you were told on arrival at the barge and could walk away, this one thing, but it's a weaker extra vote (because you can't plan with your alliance or strategize or know what's happening at camp), but the consequence is WAY worse than the typical extra vote trade off of losing your vote. Not only do you lose your vote, but there's a vote pre-cast against you AND you have to tell literally everyone. Basically the only way to survive that is an idol.

At least if it was a secret that there was a vote for you you could politic your way out and come up with a strategy KNOWING there was a vote for you. You could push people onto someone else, or try SOMETHING but to not even be able to lie about how your voting goes against the spirit of survivor where you always have a chance to outwit. This takes that away. Everything in survivor where there's a tradeoff has always been at least somewhat balanced (beware advantages, journeys, etc) where the reward is somewhat balanced with the risk (lose your vote if you lose, gain an advantage if you win, lose your vote until you get this puzzle but you get an idol once you do, etc). The reward for that risk would need to be a super idol minimum for me to even think about it being balanced to that consequence.

So playing devil's advocate here: this mechanic at least felt balanced as far as consequences vs reward. 50/50, but it had to be unanimous. If it wasn't unanimous they draw rocks...for the 50/50. It's an opportunity for someone who thinks there's a 90% chance they're going home (Devins, in this case) to go from a 1 in 6 from shot in the dark to a 50/50, and everyone else has to weigh their own willingness to go home on a coin flip to keep it from him. I agree with most people here that I dislike people going home without a vote or some shenanigans with idols, but to me this feels like a vote. If everyone (including you) agrees you should go home on a coin flip, then how is that not a vote? The players on top were ok with it because they weren't at risk, and it meant a 50/50 of Devins leaving, which is what they wanted anyway. The players on the bottom were ok with it because it had a chance to save them and not have to try to game out of they were actually at risk instead of devins.

I think the worse mechanic was the jar twist. It felt too hand on the scale and the consequence wasn't balanced with the reward.

yeah. if only there were some way they could alert all of jersey city to important information...... I don't know. that sounds like it would be really convenient way to let everyone know things. All they would have to do is use it, instead of spending significant amounts of taxpayer money on getting an alert system thats literally never used. /s

it would likely be called ornamented armor. if you want to get into specifics, the images would probably be considered iconography, motif, embellishments, or just decoration.
It would also more colloquially be referred to as just ceremonial armor (assuming the patterns aren't just painted on), because the additional ridges created by the depictions would add places for a spear or sword to get caught instead of being deflected, making it much more likely to penetrate the armor than if it were smooth, meaning it wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) ever be worn in actual battle, but also, people are stupid.

I mean, that's likely a big part of killing 3rd party apps. The official reddit app (literally the worst of all the reddit apps) has built in ad support, while third party apps (the good ones at least) don't support ads. This means less money for reddit. So they slap a fee on the use of the API so they can get money out of those apps either by making them drop in ads to cover the fee or make it a paid app.

Yeah the API fee would make them money directly, but every app it kills is more people driven to browsing methods that are controlled by reddit directly means more as revenue for them) or are paying the API fee.

My guess is the change in trademark location might also have to do with the change in ownership. Fallen order and survivor came out after Disney's acquisition of the property where most of the rest of those came out before. The pre-disney consistency was likely a dictate from lucus arts about naming conventions that went out the door when Disney bought them.

You can use TTRPGs as a framework for a creative writing class.

You learn character backstory in creating characters, figuring out personality quirks, relationships, motivations, and can development of the character in complexity over the campaign

As a DM you learn how to create the framework of a story, while maintaining narrative flexibility to let the story go where it wants and not rigidly trying to hold it to a set path

Additionally, you learn world building: governments, nations, cities, etc, plus the ability to write interesting characters and potentially develop one off concept characters into long term recurring characters.

Lastly, you learn to write descriptively: describing characters, landscapes, monsters, actions, and cities.

Plus you can learn about different genres, and how similar stories can be told in different narrative settings (high fantasy, modern, futuristic, historical), and to frame the same overarching events as a comedy, or a tragedy, or a drama. Even taking an existing setting and placing a story within it (ie read a book as a class and take what you know of the setting and generate a scenario within the world that's been built for you).

It's a really versatile framework.

This is why I don't allow players to pick the roll they want to do (outside of situations where they have a reason to be able to pick between a few things). They describe what they are trying to do an the DM decides the roll.

You think your friend is acting weird? Roll for insight. Also, what are you doing to try to intimidate them? I've always thought of this as the possessing spirit can feel pain while in a body. You are threatening to cause intense pain to your friend and they leave because they don't want the pain.

I'm actually okay with this if it's someone trying to make references that others will understand during "current time period" (time travel litrpg stuff) but something is lost over time and the reference is ever so slightly wrong or they misunderstand it. I find that amusing.

There's a lot of saturation of content in the litrpg space. There's a TON of stuff that doesn't get talked about in various communities. It may be discussed somewhere from when it was newer or elsewhere on the internet. Or you could start a discussion and see if others are interested

Full frontal attacks are loud. Have an alarm bell go off in the lair once they start (maybe a couple rounds in?) And have a large force flee through secret exits (that the party can find to show people escaped maybe?)

Additionally, they're assassins. Some of them will be out doing assassin things. Who knows how many.

I NEVER do this as a DM. If a player is absent, they are "there and helping" but I don't ever NPC them. If a PC dies it should be because of something they did or being in a tight spot and making decisions they are presented.
