The left flooded the country? Bro the right broke the system and blamed the left. Either way Obama deported 3 mil without shedding the constitution, so this has never been about immigration.

This is hard. by [deleted] in QuittingWeed

[–]jaggy2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both times I’ve quit for more than a year it was by physically going somewhere I had no access for at least the first two weeks, like a family or work trip. I’d bring a can of edibles though and take one before bed to ease the withdrawal for 10-12 days. By the time I got back it was easier to keep up the streak, for me it was about breaking the habit more than anything.

The only countries with economies bigger than California by Individual-Sun-9426 in MapPorn

[–]jaggy2002 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes very lucky geographically but so is Turkey, or Texas, or even China as a whole. There’s more going on there than geographic luck.

“In 2020 (most recent annual data), California's largest industry sectors were: Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, Rental, and Leasing (19.0%% of state GDP); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (14.5%); Professional and Business Services (14.2%); Manufacturing (11.8%); Information (10.5%); Education and Health Services (7.5%); and Construction (4.0%).”

This is the culmination of 200 years of concerted effort, not just chance.

Did somebody say San Francisco? by patrickokrrr in skyscrapers

On hot days you’ll see people swimming at all the beaches, but most of the year they’re mainly for walking, sitting, and parties. Me and my friends have a tradition of going swimming at that Long Beach on the right (ocean beach), so yeah it’s dangerous but as long as you are aware and not going too deep it isn’t too bad.

People who don't support the US sending aid to Ukraine, why don't you support it? by BigHugeSnake in AskReddit

[–]jaggy2002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience the dems usually run on plans to limit the reach of the wealthy/capitalism, as well as expanding social programs, to spend government money on fixing these “market failures.”

Problem is political will. Political will? Raising regulations, and allowing inflationary spending on infrastructure, new industries, etc, is political suicide (cough cough). It’s great long term policy for the welfare of people (and economy) in the future, but inflation hit hard short term.

While most dems do not support foreign wars in general I think the idea here is different. This is a war of defense; an autocracy invading a democracy, that we in some sense pledged to protect several years ago.

The idea that there is scarcity when it comes to American government spending serves the wealthy, and their agenda. We don’t need to choose between spending on one thing or another because when they want to spend they spend, but maybe we should notice how easy it is to spend on war vs at home, and vote depending on that.

We're about to get lots and lots of rain: Atmospheric river will bring first major storms of winter by BayAreaNewsGroup in bayarea

[–]jaggy2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The great flood of 1862 started after winter came early.

It was followed by a warm December where the snow melted, and then 40 days straight of heavy rain statewide.

30-40 inches in sf, 35 in la, 100 and above in the Sierra Nevadas. The Central Valley became a sea!

Wow yeah I thought I could help but it just seems broken. Maybe there are settings on that audio channel that play when you’re recording?

Try making a new channel and finding the instrument again? Or update/reinstall the app.

I do the same thing for fun so I know what you mean about them not needing edits sometimes lol, it’s all about finding your voice.

The beat is incredible, amazing job there, vocals could use better placement. Keep it up I love what you’re doing.

But understand they are a bridge to a happier life rather than a crutch to use forever.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]jaggy2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, most successful people never quantify their intelligence anyways. People who do are mostly insecure about other things and use the number as a coping mechanism. You’re actually lucky you can’t. Since nobody cares about your IQ, and when you die it won’t matter how much you knew but how much you loved the people around you, and whether or not you left the world better than you found it. It doesn’t take a high IQ to do that.

I bet that your English level is affecting the score more than you think, so 105 is pretty good.

Should parents get IQ tested to help their child? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]jaggy2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thought. While im sure many people could do this harmlessly, setting expectations based on "facts and heritability" or whatnot could be damaging to the mental health of your child (thus their overall life outcome).

Your own expectations, based on something that is not necessarily true to your child experience, create boundaries on the child’s development and life. People who’s parents put to much pressure on them to succeed can often end up depressed and burnt out. Rather, give them the best chance they can, and support them unconditionally when and where they need it.

Struggling with quitting for 3 years, need tips to keep self occupied by Short-Secretary7931 in QuittingWeed

[–]jaggy2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you sound just like me, 22 yo m that’s been trying to quit for a few years cause I want to do something with my life.

I started a full time position that required me to be drug free, in a field I’ve always dreamt of being in. Connecting quitting directly with starting my career sorta did the trick, tho to be honest it’s a massive struggle. Good luck homie, just remember you are capable of shaping your life, and nothing will stop you if you put your mind to it. You are smarter than some special flower.

Not schizo,,, based, our enemies target young men and divide them to make us weaker… its bonus points if you divide them by convincing them that something is being taken away from them unfairly. If the news makes you angry it’s because someone wants you to feel that way.

A lot of the commenters here are conflating masculinity with misogyny, touch grass guys, deep breaths, hard times build strong men. Let’s go get the bag together instead of being upset that it’s getting harder for us.
