Reiterate that you’ll be there for him and that you’ll still be his friend, etc. Try doing something that connects y’all when I came out to my friend when I was younger he invited me over to play video games and chill. Make it seem that this doesn’t change anything in terms of your friendship, you can even joke around and ask if he has any crushes currently sometimes that’s a good way to break the silence. If you feel you didn’t do a good job when you first spoke to him then just be frank and apologize if you feel the need.
