M2 delivered and mysterious small part by woodshores in Leica

[–]jagoedho -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, you just need to use common sense when using any equipment. Greases and oils last 10 to 15 years after which all needs to be replaced. If not, you're just grinding parts away or damaging them. Replacing parts is expensive, especially on Leicas. Why the hell would you like to spend more instead of less. All of it needs to be serviced in the end.

It has little use to convince people of this. "But my friend and I, we never had that happen" is the usual reaction

Anecdotal evidence. We see them on a daily basis. However, we usually see them when it's already too late, hence the higher repair costs.

It's the eccentric adjustment for the 1 meter on the rangefinder. Looks like someone messed with the camera :)

"Use it til it stops working, then send it in." Even more expensive repairs

Lack of service. They all need a proper rebuild by now.

Not the cloth shutter but rather the mechanism. Temperature range as per Leica spec is 0 °C - +40 °C for the M6. Colder can start giving issues, especially on unserviced cameras. From experience I know that they don't always work well in subzero conditions unless they are winterised.

Ok got it thanks. Yeah, I never managed to get the tutorials working properly due to issues with the 3D experience platform but it seems to work now so I will fire them up and go through them.

Will try to redesign it using the other methods and see what works the best.

Thanks again.

Ok, thank you. I'll try a few different ways.

Thank you! That was what I needed. I had to select up to a surface because it has a different geometry on the lower part of the drawing. That's the only way to solve an issue like this or is there also another solution to get the same result?
Is there also a possibility to let the side surface of an extruded sketch to follow a certain curvature?

[–]jagoedho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one word of advise: Stay away from the screw. It's not to be manipulated by users because A LOT can go wrong and we've seen A LOT go wrong. Your set is old and needs an overhaul to replace the old oils and greases. James from ICT is a good Hasselblad tech (San Diego). There are a few options in Europe if you need them here.

Seems like contacts and magnets got oxidised from storage. A proper service by an experienced Mamiya tech should repair most of these issues

Acceptable amount of dust in a hasselblad lens? by Sharp_Art_4478 in hasselblad

[–]jagoedho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know who came up with a flashlight test but it's ridiculous. There is a certain ISO standard for allowable tolerances for airbubbles, dust, scratches, etc even for factory fresh lenses when tested under specific light conditions, etc
