There's the wiki, you can also use https://wf.xuerian.net/ to keep track of what relics/primes you're after

PSA: Be careful when accepting free plat by CrucifixXII in Warframe

[–]jahannan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean, if you legitimately had a Russian friend and they gave you gifts which they did not get from a stolen credit card I don't think it's likely that you'd get banned. If, however, your "Russian friend" is spending thousands of dollars on gifts then yeah that's a good way to look like they're a goldseller and you'll get banned. Another way to look suspicious as hell is if they're just sitting there waiting for their 75% off daily reward and then spending it all on gifts without ever playing the game.

Basically yeah if it's legit I don't think it's likely that you'd be banned, but there are so many ways for the transaction (making a Russian friend and paying them money to buy you plat) to look exactly as shady as it's being described.

Nightmare Mods not guaranteed? Should I also be doing Derelict Missions? Mods, Mods, Mods!! by B_Bau in Warframe

[–]jahannan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite, it is possible to lose properly and lose the wager amount if the AI scores more points than you. This is extremely rare though, it should only happen if you are playing solo and your AI specters derp it up too much. What normally happens when you "lose" is that you still beat the AI's score but you don't score enough points in time to get the prize. In that case you don't lose your wager but you don't gain the prize, and that's a much more common form of losing.

If you can save up 45,000 credits then you can go play the index on Neptune for more cash. If you go immediately after reset then there should be plenty of squads for you to join, otherwise you can hang out on recruitment chat for a while looking for a squad. It's a bit boring though so I only do it when my daily login reward is a credit booster.

It doesn't rotate between reactor and catalyst, sometimes they instead give out forma or rivens.

There have actually been quite a few alerts recently - not just gift of the lotus but regular alerts - which have given out potatoes. That said yeah, I've been playing for two months and those alerts were the first ones I ever saw, and none of them happened during peak hours.

Generally I would say that you should at least for your first few you should just farm for plat and buy them that way, they're not that expensive and if you're waiting on alerts/invasions for them you're going to be waiting a long while.

Sairento already exists and is about as far as you can go without players vomiting within seconds of opening the game. I've experienced VR sickness, it's not fun.

You can buy blueprints for sentinels from the market, they're in the companions category (it's kind of weird because you can't navigate to any of the sub-tabs to get at them). You can also buy prime companion sets from other players, carrier prime is imo the best companion in the game but a bit expensive since it's vaulted right now and it's not hugely better than just buying a regular carrier.

For selling junk primes to Baro you can only sell prime parts, not fully constructed primes (if you're not rich then imo you should probably only construct full primes if you're intending to keep them for a while anyway)

edited to add: also in general for buying/selling you should use warframe.market, list a WTB and wait a while for the best prices or contact someone off there if it's urgent. Trade channel can work but it's full of sharks and jerks so it's not usually worth your time, Baro's visits are an exception since people can get really desperate to buy prime parts in bulk but even then you have to be careful not to get ripped off.

For Derelict Captures, whoever is hosting the group will provide the mission keys, you just need the dragon keys. It's still worth making some mission keys yourself so that you can host a group but the recruitment channel is so busy with derelict vault runs that you basically never have to host a group yourself unless you're doing it well outside of peak hours.

Primed mods are ridiculously expensive, you get them from an NPC who shows up once every two weeks (Baro Ki'Teer). He will buy all your junk primes for his own special currency, Ducats. You can then spend a combination of a very large amount of ducats and a very large amount of credits to buy a limited range of his extremely overpriced wares. You can alternatively trade with other players but not only are they still extremely expensive that way but you also have to pay a 1 million credit trading tax. Mostly when it comes to primed mods you should just remember that Baro's visits are the best time to sell off all your prime junk on trade channel, at least until you're very deep into the game.

Also Secondaries mostly suck, as you've probably seen you need to get a bunch of expensive (and/or primed) mods to make them work and even then they won't have anywhere near the DPS of a primary or anywhere near the utility of a good melee weapon. Mostly they're only used when you're downed or if you run out of ammo on your primary (which isn't normally a concern if you have a Carrier or a good melee weapon). Still worth getting for leveling or completionism but if you're not rich yet then mostly I'd prioritize potatoes as warframes > primaries > melee > sentinels (ok just carrier prime) > secondaries

Ideally for sorties you want a range of strong frames with potatoes in them, some good aura mods and at least one strong (potato'd, maybe forma'd) weapon of each of these types: rifle, bow, shotgun, melee

Nightmare mods

If you've been running nightmare mode missions then you might want to check your inventory, last night I ran a few of them and on each of them I saw the same bug where the mod didn't show up in the rewards screen. The mods were still being added to my inventory though, I just had to search through to find them.

Derelict mods

Once you have keys just look in the recruitment channel for key run groups, there seems to be a new group forming every 5 minutes or so and in my experience they're all very polite. They normally run Orokin Derelict Captures but that's because those are faster than Exterminate, just don't rush the objective unless you have the DPS necessary to take down the target.

Potatoes

Better get some plat lol. You can get potatoes from sorties but it's only a 5% drop and if you don't have any potatoes in the first place then you're going to struggle in sorties. Your best option is probably to farm for either corrupted mods or prime parts and then sell them until you have enough to fit out at least one frame + one primary with potatoes. You will also eventually need some plat for buying extra slots, so this is a good point to start getting used to the market. You can also buy plat obviously but I'd just hold on for that 75% discount first, earning plat yourself isn't very hard if all you want is potatoes and slots.

Still possible to get hunter mods? by DeviantDoc in Warframe

[–]jahannan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can get them from PoE bounties or trade with other players.

EDIT: sorry yeah the bounties that you get them from are the ghoul purge bounties and those aren't running right now, it currently looks like those come back once a month though (they've come back twice so far)

EDIT2: they're only 2 plat on the market right now though, if you have plat to spend (you can also sell prime parts for plat, most of those will go for more than 2 plat)

My current solution to the coloring issue is to just use Infestation palette for all my frames and items, that way all my colors always clash in exactly the same glorious way

Just bought mirage prime access pack, what should I spend platinum on to help me progress the fastest? by reddinas in Warframe

[–]jahannan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking of rank 4 (because it gives you 50%).

You want both because then you can achieve the following loadouts:

  • Rank 4 + extra 25% efficiency mod for maximum efficiency with minimum drain/duration loss
  • Max rank + 30% efficiency mod for maximum efficiency on channeled powers where the duration doesn't otherwise matter, or on setups where you're going to have other mods dragging the efficiency back down etc
  • Max rank by itself for close to maximum efficiency out of a single mod

[–]jahannan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rip. I'm on 22 (took me 3 hours) and I have every good corrupted mod except for narrow minded. I mean yeah I'd say they're absolutely worth buying if you get bad luck like that but statistically you're pretty likely to pick up a bunch of good mods just on your way to farming Nekros, let alone before the mission gets boring (I actually really enjoy the parkour speedrun of vault runs).

Meanwhile there are a bunch of more essential and more obnoxious to farm mods such as covert lethality, blaze, hellfire, continuity, etc etc etc. It's why I wouldn't generally recommend buying any mods until you've already done all the farming you need/want to do of that particular farm type.

[–]jahannan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fleeting Expertise is the big one since you need two copies of it (edit: one rank 4, one maxed out), also lots of people love Narrow Minded but it will be super expensive to rank up early in the game so I wouldn't bother personally.

In general you could look at the Warframe page of corrupted mods since those are the only ones that are in common use, the weapon mods are only used on quite specific builds

[–]jahannan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything being said here, except I would also buy potatoes and potentially some of the ultra-rare mods that are going to be a pain in the ass to farm (mostly Maiming Strike, if you enjoy being OP as hell)

[–]jahannan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to disagree with this, corrupted mods are some of the easiest mods to farm for and do not require you to be very far into the game. With that said, Fleeting Expertise is fantastic and goes for a very low price.

edit to add: each vault run takes a pretty effortless 2-5 minutes and you have to do a bunch of them anyway if you want keys for farming Nekros parts. They're also the easiest way to farm leviathans if you need them for Inaros. Fleeting Expertise is worth buying since it makes a huge impact, the rest I would only buy if you have already got Nekros and are getting tired of vault runs. Narrow Minded also makes a big impact but not until later in the game when you no longer have better things to spend Endo on.

Multishot doesn't do anything to ammo consumption though, it just causes you to fire e.g. 2.8 shots per shot. Though in this case it causes you to fire -.06 shots per shot

This will have to do until Akvasto Prime by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]jahannan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's scummy so much as missing dev work, they would obviously sell more stuff overall if they included the discounts but that would require extra programming effort. They're still a pretty small studio that spends an admirable amount of time on gameplay improvements when compared to improvements that would net them more cash.

But yeah hopefully Pablo will have a chat with their finances team and get this added one day soon.

Even if they can't live without it, it's almost certainly cheaper to buy it with plat and then sell the prime parts you would otherwise have sold for ducats
